Ecology and Management
Learn how ecology works in an environment far removed from human impact, why we have our current management programs and how they evolved.
Semester in the Wild is a once in a lifetime experience. The program encourages team building and learning how to live off the land as much as possible while still having some modern amenities. It is a great way to learn new skills and knowledge in a setting that you can’t get anywhere else!

Leadership isn’t just about overseeing a group; it’s about being in charge of yourself and having personal responsibility. I learned how important it is to be comfortable asking others for help when you have reached some sort of limit, physical, or mental.
My favorite moment from Taylor was waking up to a snowfall in the middle of November and going to feed the horses. The world felt frozen in time.

Semester in the Wild provided me with unforgettable opportunities that improved me academically, professionally, and personally. This program taught me about how landscapes work, the importance of their natural history, and the politics that go into their conservation. Alongside my classes, it forced me to learn so many life skills that I still use from today. This program bonded me with an incredible group of people and allowed us to grow both as individuals and as a group. It taught me my strengths, my weaknesses, and my limits, and I highly encourage anyone considering it to go for it!
