IndigenousPeoples'Day,celebratedonthe secondMondayofOctober,replacesColumbus Dayinmanycities,states,andorganizations, honoringIndigenouspeoplesoftheU.S.despite ColumbusDayremainingafederalholiday.
AttheUniversityofIdahoNativeAmerican StudentCenter(NASC),weareproudtohonor thestrength,resilience,andculturesofall Indigenouspeoples.Moscow,Idaho—hometo theNimíipuu(NezPerce),Palus(Palouse),and Schitsu’umsh(Coeurd’Alene)tribes—became thefirstcityinIdahotoofficiallyrecognize IndigenousPeoples'Dayin2017,andwecontinue tocelebratethisimportantdayoncampus.
