Lauren Hemley Cle Elum Trinity Center The CET Center is church and community center program designed to facilitate physical, emotional, and mental experiences of the relationships between the tangible environment, a relational human environment, and God. Geometry based on the Fibonacci sequence implies a link between science and faith while providing a meaningful path for a journey through the site.
TRANSITional urban fabric is a project about the transition of underutilized land at the western edge of downtown Boise and how transit oriented development can create an identity as well as a dynamic and complete public realm for this area. This project looks at how transit oriented development can create this identity for while maintaining and strengthening the area’s light industrial character. Ronald Polintan MI: Modular Intelligence This is an architectural research and investigation into the relationship of material behavior to a selected gradient condition: human proximity. The research agenda includes studies in modularity with simple shapes, fabrication, and computer technologies. The outcome of this research can instrumentalize the interrelationship between form, material, structure, and contextspecific interaction within the environment.

Using stylistic parallels and tectonic strategies, there becomes an identity in design itself using the inspiration of two creative disciplines, fashion and architecture. Through experimentation, unique architectural tectonics that respond to movement, materiality and perception have created a connection between these two disciplines in a transitioning program situated in South of Market Street Area, San Francisco.
K a t h e r i n e W o o d Va r e l a Water’s Edge: Redefining Water in Urban Boise Identifying place and connection for Boise’s Linen, West Connector and River-Myrtle Districts, the comprehensive master plan examines pedestrian relationships with the built and natural environments through controlled urban waterscapes that transition to organic river edges. The proposal challenges river edge definitions while encouraging sustainable development and water urbanism. Edgar Reyes Market Street: Transit and the Public Realm Transit plays a critical role in urban morphology, our experience of cities and our interaction with the public realm. The re-introduction of rail transit to the urban core can shape public space, create connection and provide new opportunities for public life. This project explores the interaction between transit and public life.

A simplified modular approach to construction and disaster medical relief through a kit of parts. This, along with visual instructions from a designers instruction booklet, allow small scale structures to be built in a short timescale, by untrained volunteers, and without the use of heavy equipment or specialist training.
Rapidly advancing telecommunication technology is & will continue to alter the way in which we conduct our everyday lives. We are obligated to consider what role architecture will play in a future where traditional patterns of life are being permanently altered by advanced telecommunications. The new forms of cities & communities created as a result will rely on the instant connections achieved through new technology & will minimize the reliance on the auto & the needs for transit. After being constrained from natural and man made effects, this project analyzes Boise’s River Street neighborhood and looks at how it can be reconnected to its surrounding context. Among many aspects of the project, increasing the density and creating pedestrian friendly streets help to revive this neighborhood and give it a sense of identity.
In order for Detroit to once again become a great city it must be consolidated, leaving what is lost behind and moving to a green future. By redistributing the population Detroit opens up the possibility for nature to return to the city, accessible to the population by the transformation of the extensive infrastructure of Detroit that transects this historic city.
In an attempt to create a more sustainable environment that encourages us to live more in harmony with nature, I am designing a new public library that creates a fusion between the built elements and the natural elements. My hopes are that by creating this fusion, it will bring us to a greater awareness of how important it is to preserve our natural resources.

The rise of digital media is impacting libraries throughout the world. Library 2029 takes a closer look at how the changing technologies might be implemented into future libraries.
The Intent of my design is to connect Portland Downtown to the waterfront park while maintain a pedestrian oriented development. Morrison Bridge is a gateway to Portland that needs improvement in walk-ability, safety, and utilization. This project creates new opportunities for Portland to utilize gateways in a new way and expands Portland’s legacy of a pedestrian oriented city.

As the Namib beetle survives within its desert environment solely due to the specific composition of its shell, so should our buildings function within a specific local environment due to the strategic integration of building systems, strategies and tectonics. The Bay School Center for the Arts, like the Namib beetle, collects its daily water allocation from the consistent fog exposure of San Francisco, California, supplementing the areas less than adequate average annual rainfall.
