HISTORY OF PHILOSOPHY QUARTERLY

Edited by: Patrick Grim Issued quarterly ISSN: 0003-0481 eISSN: 2152-1123

The History of Philosophy Quarterly is a scholarly journal that aims to cultivate philosophical history in the spirit of philosophia perennis. HPQ approaches the history of philosophy and philosophy itself as parts of a whole, seeing the work of past philosophers not only as objects of historical inquiry but also ways to address current problems of philosophy. Hence, HPQ finds no impassible boundary between philosophy and its history, regarding historical studies as a way of dealing with problems of continuing interest and importance. Each issue is devoted entirely to articles: no book reviews and no discussion notes, though general surveys on particular topics may be published. Subscriptions should be sent to: Journals Department, University of Illinois Press, 1325 S. Oak St., Champaign, IL 61820; phone: 866-244-0626 (toll free), or 217-244-0626; fax: 217-244-8082; e-mail: journals@uillinois.edu; www.press.uillinois.edu. Vol. 57 (2020) No. 4

Half Page $175 5.0” x 3.75”

Public Affairs Quarterly (PAQ) publishes work in all areas of practically engaged normative philosophy, broadly understood to include normative work on issues of public concern in applied moral, social, political, and legal philosophy. Topics covered by the journal include subjects of long-standing debate such as abortion, capital punishment, and just war theory; more recently emerging subjects of controversy such as climate change, affirmative action, commercial surrogacy, and the treatment of non-human animals; topics relating to current social movements such as racism and sexual harassment, and to current technological developments such as gene editing and autonomous weapons systems. Submissions of a more general nature that address implications for a cluster of such issues rather than focusing on a single issue are welcome. These topics include race, sexuality, gender, social identity, nationalism, paternalism, privacy, distributive justice, economic fairness, political inequality, and commodification.

American Philosophical Quarterly

Duration: 90 days Rate: $150

For over fifty years, American Philosophical Quarterly (APQ) has been one of the principal English vehicles for the publication of scholarly work in philosophy. The editorial policy is to publish work of high quality, regardless of the school of thought from which it derives. APQ is published by the University of Illinois Press on behalf of North American Philosophical Publications.

HISTORY OF PHILOSOPHY QUARTERLY The History of Philosophy Quarterly is a scholarly journal that aims to cultivate philosophical history in the spirit of philosophia perennis.
