Full of fun exercises, I want to be a photographer sets you to work too! For example: take two pictures of the same room, but make sure that there are seven differences between the two rooms. Can your friends find the differences?

Evy Raes is a photographer. In 2010, she launched the project Pablo de Kever/Pablo the Beetle. She travelled through Mexico for six months together with Pablo in order to find answers to questions from Belgian children about Mexico. She shared the answers via photos, videos and games on a blog. Currently, she is continuing this project in Belgium. She organizes various workshops and activities to teach children how to use images as a communication tool.

You also learn how to make a photo collage about yourself, starting by collecting pictures of your favourite animal and the things you like. You will be surprised by the result! An activity book for future photographers together with assignments, useful tips and fun examples.

Don’t go to Canada and other misunderstandings about love Evelien De Vlieger • Inspired by the life of De Vlieger’s grandfather • The story of the growing pains of a 17-year old, intertwined with the tragic love story of almost a century ago Don’t go to Canada is the story of Klaar and her grandfather. It’s the story of growing up, or choosing not to. The story of a bet with a friend about learning how to type in a weekend, about a peeping neighbour, about a wild night with a stranger and a cat, about the time of your life and what to do when that time is past. The seventeen-year-old Klaar minds the cat of her grandparents when they are off on a trip for the weekend. She has made a bet with a boy, Peer, about being able to learn herself how to type with her ten fingers in one weekend. If she fails the test, Peer can do with her whatever he likes. Here’s what she intends to do: train on her grandparents’ old typewriter, all weekend. But then she finds an old notebook in her grandfather’s handwriting, and

starts to read about his adventures in Canada, in 1929. Several people keep distracting her: Bilal, a construction worker who is giving her the eye, a peeping neighbour, the cat, her own growling belly. She finds out that her grandfather is on the run for something he’s done, and gradually she gets to know what really happened in Canada and why he came back. A woman is involved, his great love, who drowned before his eyes. Her own love for Peer is slowly dawning on her, and when she fails the typing test, nothing stands in the way of their getting together. Or does there? Evelien De Vlieger writes books for young and older children: picture books, informative books and novels. She has been awarded with a ‘Boekenwelp’ for Joe and the Pigeon.
