Eleven grandmothers and grandfathers… I thought that was quite enough. At school we’re learning about family trees. And that requires the filling out of forms. I need more, I told my teacher. A whole pile! If I lay them all out next to each other, I’ll have a forest. Then I can swing from tree to tree, like a monkey.

Sabien Clement studied illustration and graphic design at the Sint Lucas instituut in Antwerp. Her work has already been awarded the ‘Boekenpauw’ and the ‘Gouden Uil’.

Sylvia Vanden Heede has written over 20 books for children and young adults which have all been enthusiastically received. Marije Tolman was awarded the ‘Vlag en Wimpel’ prize for her illustrations of the Missy Mouse series.
