Miss Fiesta 2019 Internship Opportunity
This great opportunity for a $3,500 community service internship that puts your college front and center during Fiesta San Antonio. The deadline to submit applications will come up quick! August 31, 2018 at 12 PM is the application deadline for Miss Fiesta San Antonio 2019. What Can Applicants Expect? The competition is an internship, with selection based largely on the applicant’s proposal for a community service project. The Miss Fiesta competition provides an opportunity for students to take a cause they are passionate about and implement it in San Antonio through a community service project. A scholarship of $3500 is awarded to the winner. Deadline for submission is 12 p.m. August 31, 2018. Applications and supporting materials must be submitted by the deadline, By Email to missfiesta@fiesta-sa-org, or by mail or in person to the Fiesta San Antonio Commission 2611 Broadway, San Antonio, TX 78215 Miss Fiesta 2019 will be crowned at the Miss Fiesta Selection Event on October 18, 2018. Miss Fiesta serves as Official Fiesta® Royalty and ambassador who raises awareness of Fiesta® San Antonio, Fiesta® San Antonio Foundation, and also of the community service platform she creates during her reign. She must be available for an all-expenses paid, whirlwind Fiesta 2019, April 18-28, when she will attend most Fiesta events. Who Should Apply? Community-minded young women, 18-23 years old. Those who hold a minimum GPA of 2.5 at an accredited educational institution in the San Antonio area. Winner must be available for certain press interviews and public appearances from October 2018 through October 2019. Fiesta 2019 dates are April 18-28, when Miss Fiesta must commit to visiting the full schedule of Fiesta events. Dr. Clarence Lee Jr. August 31, 2018 12:00-1:00 PM SEC Ballroom Dr. Lee is a nationally celebrated author, international speaker, and CEO of CMLEEJR Co., a personal development enterprise that conducts live training experiences on high performance and mental conditioning for teams, organizations and students. A former collegiate-athlete, Dr. Lee holds a degree in Biology (B.S.) from University of the Incarnate Word, and degrees in medicine (M.D.) and business (M.B.A.) from Drexel University. Also a decorated war veteran, Dr. Lee served in the United States Air Force for 10 years with several assignments, his last as a flight surgeon flying the T-38 and U-2 airframes at Beale AFB, CA. Dr. Lee is the author of the inspirational memoir “Well, My Mom Says…” as well as his latest book “PERSIST”. He is a columnist for several publications and his work has been featured in Live Happy Magazine, Black Fitness Today, and Essence Magazine to name a few. He regularly appears as a on-air TV health expert and has been featured in segments on ABC, CBS, and FOX television stations. Recently, Dr. Lee was named Top 40 under 40 by the Sacramento Business Journal and Drexel University. He was honored as one of the top healthcare entrepreneurs to know by Becker’s Hospital Review, and is one of the latest recipients of the Black Enterprise Modern Man award. Dr. Lee is a devoted husband and father. He lives in Carlsbad, CA and loves spending time with his wife and 3 children.
