Join The UIW Wind Ensemble The UIW Wind Ensemble is a great way to meet people, make music, and participate in a group full of students studying many different majors. I encourage you to use those skills to earn 1 hour of Fine Arts credit and a possible tuition credit (starting at $850) to help offset the cost of school this semester! In addition, if you don’t have an instrument, instruments can be provided through the school. While all instruments are welcome, spots are still available in the following sections: • Trumpet • French horn • Trombone • String Bass The class (CRN 82666) meets Mondays and Wednesdays 4:30-6:00 PM and Fridays 1:30-2:30 PM in the Music Building next to the Administration Building. Concerts are scheduled for February 26 and April 23, 2017 on the UIW Campus. Come join us! Wind Ensemble – The Wind Ensemble is the university’s premier concert band. The group performs two concerts a year in the brand new 500-seat UIW Concert Hall, featuring a wide selection of modern and classic repertoire for band. The ensemble is open to participation for all UIW students and chair auditions are held in January of the Spring semester. (Spring only; partially fulfills CORE Fine Arts Credit). NEW FOR FALL 2017: ALL STUDENTS PARTICIPATING IN THE UIW BAND PROGRAM ARE ELIGIBLE FOR A TUITION CREDIT STARTING AT $2000 THAT IS ABLE TO BE ADDED INTO ANY EXISTING FINANCIAL AID ALREADY AWARDED FROM THE UNIVERSITY. If you have any questions, please contect Dr. Richardson at 210-841-7232 or barichar@uiwtx.edu
