Most everyone wants to make the world a better place, but with busy, demanding lives, people struggle with the where, when, and how. Now, many find themselves at home, possibly with time to dig deep and discover personal strengths and interests, resources, core beliefs, and cherished values. Dr. Jordan Kassalow and Rabbi Jennifer Krause can help create paths of purpose for today and the future.

Founder of VisionSpring, the groundbreaking venture that has restored eyesight and hope to millions of people across the globe, Kassalow has the answers: here, now, and in your own way. Sharing his personal story of integrating real-world responsibilities with his desire to make a difference, Kassalow offers a practical way forward, custom-made for each person’s unique talents and circumstances, to move from thought to action.

Rabbi Jennifer Krause is the author of The Answer: Making Sense of Life, One Question at a Time. Her writing and commentary have been featured in Newsweek, The New York Times, Huffington Post, The Daily Beast, Time.com, and O Magazine. Dubbed “one of NYC’s Hippest Rabbis” and “the Jewish Katie Couric” by WNET’s MetroFocus, Krause served as the High Holidays rabbi at Manhattan’s 92Y, the first woman to hold that post in 92Y’s 145-year history.

Dr. Jordan Kassalow and Rabbi Jennifer Krause’s virtual visit to Tidewater is presented by the Milton “Mickey” Kramer Scholar-in-Residence Fund of the Congregation Beth El Foundation’s Tidewater Together series, an annual collaboration between the United Jewish Federation of Tidewater and area synagogues including B’nai Israel Congregation, Congregation Beth Chaverim, Congregation Beth El, Kehillat Bet Hamidrash, Ohef Sholom Temple, Temple Emanuel, Temple Israel, and Tidewater Chavurah, which provides opportunities to connect Jewishly on a variety of topics, offering something for everyone. The event is also part of United Jewish Federation of Tidewater and Simon Family JCC’s Lee and Bernard Jaffe Family Jewish Book Festival through membership in the Jewish Book Council and in partnership with UJFT’s Society of Professionals.
