JESSIE J Jessie J star is born. We at UKB have been watching Jessie J for about 2 years and we are surprised that she is just now hitting over ground as she is very well none on the performing circuit with a HUGE fan base. With her jet black sharp fringed hair, she ooze’s nothing but confidence, she should be as she achieved this level on her own terms, how can you not with her singing voice. It hasn’t been an easy ride for Jessie J, before she started making her power moves. She had problems with her heart and had a stroke. , ‘I had a minor stroke three years ago. I’ve got heart problems. I’ve looked at the big stuff straight in the eye, had people sitting on the end of a hospital bed wondering what’s going to happen next and genuinely not knowing. I don’t drink. I don’t smoke. I can’t touch drugs. I can’t even have caffeine. I have to be confident. Because I can’t intoxicate myself with those props ordinary young people have to give them confidence.’ This is what inspires her, when she feels down she bounces back and says look I don’t need a therapist I just need to write a song. From signing record deals with

companies that went bust, this lady is no stranger to the grind, she isn’t afraid of pulling herself up by her boot straps and starting all over. ‘I like the hustle. I like the grind. I just want to get out there. I landed off the plane in LA, did a showcase at the Viper Rooms and two days later I’m sat with LA Reid and there are 8 offers on the table. LA said to me he couldn’t

believe that British labels had passed up on me.’ I don’t know how she slipped through the net as I saw this years ago. Just call me Simon Cowell. Guaranteed to see much more from this talented young lady in 2011 lets just hope that no more of our talent has to go across the pond to be heard.

What are you good at? Where do you want to be in the future? What do you truly enjoy doing? These are questions you need to ask yourself. You need to set goals on how you’re going to get where you need to be. Start by looking at vacancies of the future position you want to be in, you’ll get an idea of what skills and experience will be needed. If you need specific training find a course to help you on your way. You’ll need a CV to start with. There are many online tips to help you structure your CV with templates of layouts you can use. You will need details of your school qualifications along with any other course information you have completed, work experience and your previous employer information. Keep your CV easy to read, displaying information that’s related to the role you’re applying for, basic font would be Times New Roman or Arial, size 10 and should be approx. two pages (this may vary depending on the role you’re applying for). Always keep your information up to date, personal profile needs to be short and

straight to the point. Before you give a name of a reference, make sure that person is comfortable with providing one for you. Make sure you display the correct contact number. Your voicemail should sound professional, no slang or music playing. Set up a new email address with a professional name, display that on your CV and use it when registering to job sites. You can gain the experience you need through voluntary work. You may have a better chance of getting your foot in the door of your chosen career if you already have the work experience. There are many different websites that can assist you with your search. Other people will be applying for voluntary work, don’t assume because you’ll be working with no wage that you’re the only person interested you will need to make the effort. Working voluntary also gives you the chance to meet new people, give a little back to the community and fill the gap of unemployment on your CV.

You will either be contacted by phone or email, make sure you answer the phone professionally, leaving a good first impression. When responding via emails make sure you double check before sending. If you’re successful and invited for an interview you need to be well presented, dressed appropriately and have done your research on the role / company before you attend. Again there’s lots of advice online for interview preparation. I’m currently in charge of all the UK video submissions at Flava TV on sky which is amazing as everyone knows I’m hugely passionate about UK music, I’m also their presenter so you can catch me every week interviewing artists and I’m also filming my own projects for my website www. littledonatella.com as well as still doing my “Donatella meets” series for MTV’s “The wrap up”. What do you like about the entertainment industry? I like that every day at work is different, there's so many different types of people and I especially love being able to meet artistic and creative people. What's your most embarrassing moment? Wow I've had so many. I'm possible the most clumsy person ever!!! I'm always falling over, tripping up or spilling something down me.

What's your most prized possession? Well they're not really a "possession" but I love my dogs to death.

Were do you see your self in 5 years time? A successful business woman, with a family and a beautiful house and a farm.

Whats your favourite word? pinickerty, just sounds so fitting for the definition LOOL Pinica wah? pinickerty Lool it means just how it sounds If you had 1 wish what would it be? Just to be healthy, we often take our health for granted, so that's what I'd wish for. What annoys you most? Condescending people, there's actually nothing worse. What advise would you give people trying to get into the industry? Have thick skin, don't take no for an answer and work as hard as you possible can and be ready to take knonks but don’t take it personally.

Becoming A Top Model Faith Nhemachena is a brand new muse making her way through the fashion industry. After finding her way into modelling accidentally she has discovered a new passion and canvas for her creativity. I started modelling a just few months ago. I was asked to model a dress in a student fashion show for a friend, after her model had pulled out at the last minute. The only catwalk I had ever done in my life was after buying a new pair of heels and giving then a test drive in my kitchen, with MTV Base in the background. This was nothing like walking the runway so understandably I was nervous. However the nerves where swiftly brushed aside as soon as I set foot on the runway. Walking the runway was an incredible feeling and as a result gave birth to my passion for

modelling. Over the past few months I have made a number of exciting achievements. I have now been taken on by a Modelling agency and have furthered my development as a model by acquiring a Modelling Diploma. In addition I have been able to use my creativity and energy to inspire photographers in a number of photo shoots, creating some wonderful pieces of art. My greatest achieving has to be winning the ‘Time 2 Network’ Model search because of the priceless experience I gained from the event .I was able to network with industry professionals as well as have the privilege of modelling some beautiful pieces by luminous designer ‘L’AKOT’. I believe that my love of arts such as music, fashion and dance will continue to fuel my passion for the modelling

industry. I am very excited about the work I have lined up across the county. Currently I am working various photographers and designers to sculpt some abstract and original work. I am also thrilled about the runway work I have coming up, especially walking in the ‘Help for Heroes’ fashion show for a number designers including: ‘Anoosh’, ‘Bou-Chic’, ‘Slate’ and ‘Red Butterflie’. I am also looking into going to Africa to work with several ethnic designers there, in addition to some location photo shoots inspired by ‘Krista White’. Rant Of The Month Yea i’m a grumpy guy so lemme tell you what’s grinding my gears this month! This month i’ve realized there’s a new breed of woman I call the half-bred housewives! Females who haven’t received the full home schooling! What’s up with that? Everyday I hear women talk about how chivalry is dead and there aren’t no real men around who will take them out and treat them like a lady, and yes. Ladies that is true there are hardly any gentlemen around….but I wonder why that is ?!?! mayyybe because you told all the guys you wana be “independent”? mayyybe because you told all the guys you like bad boys so now all the guys walk around with their jeans hanging off their bum talking about M.O.E! (money over everything) All i’m saying is, if u say you want a bad boy to excite you then you can’t complain when you don’t get taken to fancy restaurants! But i’m drifting…I wana talk about half-bred housewives. These are the girls I mentioned who want to be wined and dined, they want to be treated like a queen, like a wife but they cant even cook! WTF! How are you going to have a wife that can’t cook! That’s like a man who cant catch spiders! I told my friend I cant wait to get married so dinners on the table and she gave me look of disgust followed by head shake, hand in face and “why should I be cooking”…WTH so I’m going to go out to work, make the money, come home and then have to cook my own dinner!?!? Hell no, my wife will be my queen she wont have to work unless she wants to but I at least want dinner on the table! Is that a lot to ask?? Really?...seriously ladies, step your food game up!!

Marger, born Daniel Thomas, originated from the streets of east London with aspirations to be an artist at the tender age of 17. Joining Alien Muzik (a movement of different genres of sound) alongside producer Rude Kid, emcee Kwam, Rival and more along with influences ranging from Young Jeezy, Dizzee Rascal and Michael Jackson helped Marger to build and create a sound unlike any other average emcee. First releasing “Not Again” produced by grime-favourite Rude Kid put Marger in the spotlight instantly, around the same time as many other people in

London who emerged onto the scene. Realising he’d have to up the levels Marger took a two year break, in which time he continued to write lyrics and work on his distinctive flow coming back in 2008 to grow his fan base and release a mixtape “scumbags” which without much promotion still saw him sell over 1200 units. Noticed by popular DJ’s Logan Sama and Tim Westwood and emceeing on Rinse FM allowed Marger to show his fans what he was lyrically capable of, following that he upped his work rate and started working on his digital release “Flow Food”, which he released

With no time to sit back and congratulate himself Marger began working on yet another amusingly named EP “Kushwave” with his popular signature lyric “Itz... Mar-gerrrr”, circulating around the grime scene on December 12th 2010. With the success of the EP still fresh, the video for “My Thing” has now been added to our screens. JAMM TYME! Originally a Dynamic Duo formed to drop their own version of a Funky Track. But the material and chemistry that accumulated was one far more than expected, an energy found within was discovered and harnessed, which inevitably created more ideas, more tracks and more ENERGY! Currently there are 3 members.

The now formed group, do demonstrate alot of their passion for performing in many events and also a rare few clubs who are lucky enough to book them. This very eccletic group are focusing on new material within many genres including Funky House, R & B, Hip Hop, Slow Jams, Rap, Jazz, Bashment and Soca. Also to add; Dubstep, Modern House, Neo pop and Techno Rap have been acquired to the groups inventory. You can currently see J.A.M.M T.Y.M.E perform at UK UNSIGNED EVENTS, Time 2 Network, the Mix Festival, Carribean festivals and Various Raves all over the country i.e. Lovejam, 02 Indigo, Liquid and many other clubs of Great taste. How did you get your name Jamm Tyme? Uni-klone says: How we formulated our name was abit different, kind of like our group actually. Myself and Jay Flo were trying to come up with some kind of abbreviation of some sort, for

example V.A. Short for verbal assault, but we couldn’t find an abbreviation short enough to describe us and what we do. Jay Flo was reluctant to use our previous name “manifested/ maturing minds” as that was a different era, so I thought about what we do and came up with J.A.M.M. which stood for Just Any Modern Music, me and Jay decided to add the T.Y.M.E as it represented what we run by and Me being me thought I’d find something intellectual in it, so that’s how the name J.A.M.M. T.Y.M.E came to LIFE. What are you upto right now? Uni Klone says: right now were just accumulating our Material, trying the push the name and the brand, exposure is key for us to allow people on a wider basis to understand what we do exactly. You been in the scene for a while now tell us what are you working on?. Been working on lots of different projects but mostly on singles to release and collaborations, still letting people know Ozzie B the solo artist is on the way!!!!! You have now formed GMTA, tell us about this, what’s it all about? Well as u may know Im formally part of More Fire Crew and Fire Camp but in 2008 I formed a new movement and business called Great Minds Think Alike reason why I called it that is because I believe everyone should be on the same wave length and in GMTA everyone is. We have just finished GMTA Vol 2, which will be out real soon!!! What is your favourite track on GMTA VOL1 and why? My favourite track on GMTA Vol 1 has to be soldier fallen or bury dem, I love most of the tracks really.

What is your most embarrassing moment you’ve had while performing? That would be forgetting the lyrics to one of my songs that was a dench moment lol. What is your best moment uve had in your career? This would have to be when we made OI!!!! We were touring every part of the country, it was crazy. Who would you most like to collaborate with in the UK or American scene and why? boy, in the U.K, Wretch 32 he is fire!, Tayong is upcoming but he is making some big tracks right now look out 4 him, there’s plenty of artist’s I would like to work with. His new mixtape ‘Reinventing’ is the follow-up to 2010’s ‘Venting’ his official debut which featured, among others, 7x Jump Off champion and childhood friend Sam Khan. I remember thinking ‘Are you serious?, shouldn’t you be asking Richard Blackwood if I could sit next to him’. I just said ‘Yes’ calmly, when I performed the crowd were great. When I got back to VIP Richard Blackwood was like ‘Well done, keep it up’. It was a good feeling.

Who are you working with on your next album/mixtape/EP? I am working with Example, he has a remix for his single ‘Last one standing. I have put two verses on it. A rapper and singer called Foz Tee, and my childhood friend Storm Trooper. He was in a group called ‘Dirty Movements’, when we were younger. He made a mixtape called Heartbeat which had, Lady Fury and the essentials on. What three words describe you? Honestly, I think I’m really sensitive but strong at the same time.
