BORNSTAR CLOTHING B
ornStar Clothing is a designer brand that represents t the finer qualities within us all. The belief is that we are all Born blessed, Born go getters and Born to succeed and achieve at whatever it is we put our mind and energy into. Starting out just a few years ago, the creators who hail from London decided to put their creative and business skills together and create what they call, a ‘movement’. Having originally just printed a few t-shirts to sell to friends, the brand gathered even more attention and momentum than what the ambitious duo had anticipated. Never ones to miss out on an opportunity, the pair realised its potential and that is when BornStar as we know it really began.
The future is definitely glowing for this London based brand as they went from appearing at their first pop-up shop in the 3rd quarter of 2013, to another 6 pop-up appearances in the first half of 2014. As of June 2014 BornStar is now housed in the Croydon Emporium where you can purchase exclusive pieces and meet the team directly. Each design is available in limited quantities with new lines added to the collection monthly, ensuring that you have something fresh and unique in your wardrobe that represents you. Looks like we should be prepared for the BornStar take off!
Throughout 2012 not only did BornStar items sell out both online through their website BornStar Clothing available at: (originalbornstarclothing.com) The Croydon Emporium and social media platforms 86-88 Church Street, including Twitter and Instagram Croydon, CR0 1RB (BornStarClothing), it became @OGBornStar more apparent that the UK and its www.originalbornstarclothing.com celebrities were also hearing the noise that BornStar was creating. From UFC fighter Jimi Manuwa to UK soul singer KOF, a number of celebs have been spotted sporting the bold yet elegant designs. Throughout the growth of the BornStar, style, quality and unity remains the main values that the creators keep close to their hearts and therefore the driving force behind the brand. Despite the growth they remain committed to making clothes which they believe in, simply saying “fashion changes” when referring to what their thoughts were of the fashion trends today.

leah mcfall ‘ ou have such an amazing voice and we feel you should have won the competition but that’s our opinion, did you agree with the decision in regards to the talent? Oh no not at all, I was just really honoured to be on the show in the first place because I wasn’t sure I was going to go at first, I was a bit nervous going on a reality tv show because its all about your personality and stuff, but after I heard Will was on there I just wanted a few minutes for him to listen to my voice and I did just that so there’s no disappointment over here.
Y
There’s a theme in Instagram where you tag who you have a crush on WCW MCM lol, who would you date in the UK scene and why? LOOOL it would probably be the Les Twins, ive had a crush on them for years,
stormzy
even before they was big I used to follow them, not literally follow them but I mean on Youtube lol. What’s it like working with Will.i.am is he really a creative genius? Yeh he doesn’t mess around, it’s just amazing to see him create and build a track from nothing he’s just incredible and inspired all the time. To be a fan of someone and to get to work with them is amazing. Your single Home is definitely a big track, what’s the creativity behind it? The track is co-produced and co-written by a guy called Jean Baptiste who has previously worked with everyone from Rihanna to Britney Spears and Cheryl Cole, so it was an honour to work with him.
show is really good showing you how everything works in the industry. There’s some advice that Will.i.am gave me which I feel has been very helpful which is ‘always have good people around you’
Now that your pretty knee deep in the industry what would you say you know now that they don’t teach you while on the come up coz it aint plain sailing all the time? I don’t think you are taught anything at any stage you just kind of learn, the
What else can we expect from you, any exclusive news? We got loads of stuff coming up that I don’t want to disclose as of yet but look out for the second single and keep supporting. @leahmcfallmusic
Your name is actually ironic as you have landed on the scene like a Storm, and there are a number of big artists in the game that are screaming your name and that you’re the next to blow, how does that make you feel? It’s amazing! But at the same time it’s important for me to remain focused as well and not allow any of that to make me complacent. But yeah man it’s very humbling!
would have to be JayKae. The essence of grime that these Birmingham dons have brought back is too cold!
Where does the name Stormzy come from? I’ve had this name from when I was very young. I think the name was a mixture of things, my temper, and my speed (I used to be very fast back in my day LOL) Which artists are you listening to at the moment and who would you like to work with? There’s a few artists that I think are really good. Bonkaz, Section, Yung Fume, TE, 6ix. But an artist that I listen to and would really like to work with leah mcFall / stormzy | 8
What has been your most challenging time so far while being in the industry? It’s all a bit challenging on a day to day basis to be honest. I think the most challenging thing is making sure that everything is done and done at a consistent level. Which as a standalone artist with no management, label etc can be hard. it sounds a lot harder than it is haha! But I just get on with it, me and the boy Jaiden Ramgeet. Which female in the music game would you date and why? Lady Leshurrrrr! Or Paigey Cakey. either one because their buff durrrrrrr! Hahaha! What’s your music making process? I have the weirdest music making process, I sit in my car in the early hours of the morning. I can’t write anywhere else. Either my car or in the studio. @ Stormzy1

ADVICE
boost your energy levels any cases of unexplained tiredness are due to stress, not enough sleep, poor diet and other lifestyle factors. Use these self-help tips to restore your energy levels.
M
Energy-sustaining snacks • wholegrain cereal with reducedfat milk • a piece of fruit • salad with grilled chicken • hard-boiled egg or lean ham and mustard sandwich on wholemeal bread • a low-fat yoghurt • wholemeal toast, a fruit bun or slice of malt loaf – each with low-fat spread
Sleep well It sounds obvious, but two-thirds of us suffer from sleep problems, and many people don’t get the sleep they need to stay alert through the day. The Royal College of Psychiatrists’ advice on getting a good night’s sleep is to go to bed and get up in the morning at the same time everyday; avoid naps through the day, and have a hot bath before bed (as hot as you can bear without scalding you) for at least 20 minutes.
Eat often to beat tiredness A good way to keep up your energy through the day is to eat regular meals and healthy snacks every three to four hours, rather than a large meal less often.
Reduce stress to boost energy Stress uses up a lot of energy. Try to introduce relaxing activities into your day. This could be working out at the gym, or a gentler option such as listening to music, reading or spending time with friends. Whatever relaxes you will improve your energy.
Perk up with exercise You might feel too tired to exercise, but regular exercise will make you feel less tired in the long run and you’ll have more energy. Even a single 15-minute walk can give you an energy boost, and the benefits increase with more frequent physical activity. Start with a small amount of exercise. Build up your physical activity gradually over weeks and months until you reach the recommended goal of two and a half hours of moderate-intensity aerobic exercise, such as cycling or fast walking, every week.
Cut out caffeine The Royal College of Psychiatrists recommends that anyone feeling tired should cut out caffeine. It says the best way to do this is to gradually stop having all caffeine drinks (and that includes coffee and tea and cola drinks) over a three-week period. Try to stay off caffeine completely for a month to see if you feel less tired without it. You may find that stopping caffeine gives you headaches. If this happens, cut down more slowly on the amount of caffeine that you drink.
Drink less alcohol Although a few glasses of wine in the evening helps you fall asleep, you sleep less deeply after drinking alcohol. The next day you’ll be tired even if you sleep a full eight hours. Cut down on alcohol before bedtime. You’ll get a better night’s rest and have more energy. The NHS recommends that men should not regularly drink more than 3-4 units a day. Women should not regularly drink more than 2-3 units a day. ‘Regularly’ means drinking every day or most days of the week.
Drink more water for better energy Sometimes you feel tired simply because you’re mildly dehydrated. A glass of water will do the trick, especially after exercise.

bike life with clem The beauty of photography is that it is subjective. Photography is versatile, as people’s perceptions can alter with the constant ebb and flow of societal fashion, age and politics. Photography captures the rawness of a time, and can have the power to change preconceived ideas of the past and present. How did you get into photography of BMX bikers? I started as a way to just document the progression of my friends and I. There were a few local BMX photographers who I aspired to be. They were having things published and getting paid for it and I thought to myself “I should be doing this too”. This was back when I was 15 or 16, when I hadn’t ever considered photography to be a career path. Since then I have gone through more cameras than I can count on my hand. As a BMX biker yourself what’s been your most dangerous fall? I’ve been pretty lucky in terms of injuries; the most frequent injuries are things like sprained ankles. I’d say the
worst thing I’ve done is split my head open when I missed my hand on the handlebar and fell 8 foot onto my face/ head. In terms of long-term injuries I’m pretty sure I have little to no cartilage left in my right knee. I’m not really putting forward that much of a positive case to start up riding am I haha. Where are the best BMX parks for aspiring riders? That’s a tough question to answer as there are so many new parks popping up all over the UK. My favourite indoor skatepark is Rush, which is based in Stroud, Gloucestershire, however there are loads of parks in all the major cities in the UK. Most local towns will have an outdoor park. A lot of money is being pumped into funding facilities

for skateboarding and BMX recently, with companies like Maverick Industries making a load of really good concrete plazas. Is there a good career in riding and if so how? I guess it depends on how you define career. There is money in BMX, but it’s only really shared around the elitist riders who are the best of the best. An example would be a guy called Harry Main. He’s the same age as I am and he’s driving around in an Audi R8! If money isn’t your incentive then BMX offers you the chance to travel the world going on trips and doing what you enjoy, so in that respect it would make a very good career for a lot of people.

“believe in your brand and go for it, stick at it because it won’t happen overnight”
BIG NARSTIE | 16
crep protect he days of your fresh trainers being dirtied and water damaged are history thanks to J2k. We caught up with the Rolldeep member/entrepreneur to get the low down on the product Crep Protect and The Cure Kit.
T
How did you come up with the idea Crep Protect? Crep protect was just that, it was an idea that me and my partner started about 2 years ago, the first 6 months to a year was spent doing a lot of testing and researching and just getting the product ready and making sure it was ready to be sold, and now we are hear today. Crep Protect is in a number of high street stores already what deals or growth ideas do you have coming up? Yeh well its now being stocked in Schuh and USC which are the latest shoe stores, our plans are to grow and get into Europe. At the minute we are speaking with Footlocker we are just sorting that out at the moment, I just want to conquer the world to be honest I know it sounds cliché but with this product its possible. We also got the cleaner Kit called The Cure which is out now, a lot of people used to ask me “what if my trainers are already dirty?” so we then developed a cleaner which you use on your trainers and then you can protect them after with Crep Protect. What 3 pieces of advice would you give someone trying to start up their own business? Umm believe in your brand so be brave and go for it, stick at it because it won’t happen overnight, and be very tenacious, it’s just the cliché things that people say really, but you do need to believe in your product and I believed in this from the beginning which is why I kept pushing forward.
You’ve come along way, what has been and is your greatest fear? Failure lol, it’s like everyone answers the questions the same. I don’t want a lot of things in life but I want to be comfortable, I’ve got friends that work a 9-5 and everything for them is steady, but with artists and entrepreneurs like us, it’s not always a comfortable ride as you can hit periods of no stability, there’s just always the thought that things will stop working especially with music. If you were to start your career again what would you do differently? I could say I wouldn’t change nothing simply because I am happy now, but the journey has been soo long, maybe through small things I could of done differently, but looking at the bigger picture I wouldn’t change nothing. Who would you date in the industry and why? I’ve dated all of them anyway loool, nah im joking.. umm I got to think about this whos……. Lets just say Rita Ora there you go, she’s single now so good timing. Is Rolldeep still together? can we expect new music? Umm Rolldeep I don’t know tbh with you, I haven’t seen anyone for ages and that just because I’ve been really busy, my heads been down - Pause… I haven’t even been doing any recording myself, I’ve had to really get things in order. Nobody has any problems with each other, its nothing like that, some members are just doing solo projects but you can expect some new music from me very soon. @J2KLIVE

What’s the process from getting your ideas down to producing the visuals? “My process is pretty simple, I can be driving around or chilling and I see things that inspire me, when I get in I just doodle down the idea. When it comes to me actually putting it out on camera, I just instruct people on how to deliver the ideas that I’ve put on paper.”
Real Life medici Founder H
ow did you get into film directing? “When I was in prison I used to write playful scripts about what me and my friends used to get up to but it was more of a joke thing. When the opportunity came for me to put this script together it was really by chance but because I already had a first run at it I used the skills that I picked up already to formulate a useable script which then became the online show, Real Life.”
SHODEM
You’re also a music artist, how long have you been an artist and what inspires you? I’ve been an artist since 2012, before I went to prison. I wasn’t no type of artist, I wasn’t even into music, I was just a normal guy from the area but then my friend died and that inspired me to start writing. When I came out I met my friend Young Don and it took off from there, and I’m now making the sound track to the drama series, so none of my talents are going to waste.”
Following the success of previous track ‘Cheque Me’, featuring London MC Beluga Ice, ShoDem Records returned in May with a new, six track EP, which addition includes bonus mixes from ShoDem Ent DJ Kapz, available to download on I-tunes and directly from the ShoDem Records website now. Who inspires you to keep doing what you are doing? “Umm, to be honest nobody inspires me. I don’t think I’m at that point yet where I’ve been struggling and I need to look back for inspiration. What I have produced is just been me living in an environment where it’s just second nature, so I can easily write as I know what it’s like to be in certain situations. So you could say the streets inspire me.” How did you get your online series noticed for TV? “One of Young Dons contacts called him and said they saw him in a drama series and wanted to know who the producer was. Since then we have been negotiating and it will now be aired on Ben TV.” @Qozomedici

FLYBOY LYBOY has always been a natural born performer and has been writing music since the age of 13! He is a commercial recording artist, rapper, singer and all round self-confessed musical entrepreneur. He self pens songs across all types of Pop, Urban and Dance Music, including House, RnB and Grime but these genres do not describe the sound that FLYBOY has produced to its full potential.
F
His new EP “Another Day in Paradise” is out on the 1st August, featuring the tracks, ‘Hell & Back” “Rockstar” and “Try”. FLYBOY is flying out to New York in October to meet with a major record label and progress talks he has been having with them, in hopes of being signed and going global. The track that I am releasing is called ‘Hell & Back’. It is a commercial/urban song with contrasting dark melodies, with its neck tingling video, contrasts a glossy commercial feel ultimately resulting in an epic story of going to “Hell & Back.” It speaks of ‘Hell’ which can be taken as literal or a personal journey that many people travel through to get where they are now. It maps the trials and tribulations of that journey and then the reconciliation of the wisdom and knowledge gained. The song was inspired originally by FlyBoy’s journey through life and the music industry, trying to get signed and all the trials and tribulations and sacrifices that comes with it.
The opening line, “I’ve been two times DOA, so you know am here to stay” refers to FLYBOY’S childhood history, as the doctors said he’d never be born alive and that he fought and thrived to live and now he’s doing amazing. Hell & Back is the first track of Flyboy’s up and coming EP “Another Day in Paradise” Being released 1st August 2014 and the track was produced by industry professional, Tony Fadd. The track Rockstar – FLYBOY Ft. Joseph Whelan is a fast paced, rap/rock flow and a contrast of a wild guitar riff and edgy fast paced vocals. FLYBOY teamed up with X FACTORS “Joseph Whelan” to create a commercial Rap/Rock hit, which is taking the radio station by storm. The song was inspired by a trip to the south of France by FLYBOY, he wrote the track on the plane as he was inspired to travel the world spreading his music. www.iamflyboy.com Twitter: @flyboyjunioruk

Talking openly and freely about the things he has experienced throughout his life as well as his musical ambition, this promising star describes how the two have intertwined and overlapped and how he is making his dreams become a reality. With features from the likes of Max Valentine, Robyn Rose and fellow North West London artists such as Big P, Big Trappy, Skully and many more, this monstrous mixtape is not to be ignored. It was recorded over 2012 and 2013 and shows a distinct progression within the musicality, ability and the life of this promising artist. Starrish Entertainment Ltd. On Friday, her new film Walking On Sunshine was released. Ms Lewis plays former Bond girl Gemma Arterton’s on-screen sister, and croons her way through some classic Eighties tunes. The east London-born vocalist, who has notched up three No. 1 UK singles and a million-pound fortune, told The Sunday Express’ S magazine: “I don’t want it to be like ‘Oh, she’s a musician and she’s a bit famous so that’s why she got the part.’ I want to do the exact same thing as everyone else and work really hard at it.”
Wiley hits out at BBC 1Xtra power list topped by Ed Sheeran Rapper says UK music industry is backwards and black artists are being ‘bumped’ Wiley has criticised BBC 1Xtra’s power list, which placed Ed Sheeran as the mostinfluential artist in contemporary and urban music. The Sun journalist Mr Mahmood has been “suspended pending an internal investigation” the newspaper said. Ms Contostavlos, the former N-Dubz singer and X Factor judge, had denied the allegations against her. She has said she just wants to get back into work and she hasn’t been able to work for a year.

Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark
PC | Wii | UPS3 | 3DS | June 27, 2014 A Transformers game really only has to deliver on two simple things: make it fun to transform, and make it fun to destroy robots. Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark is a dud on both of those fronts, and it throws in a confusing story to boot. Rise of the Dark Spark has a simple storyline about the bad guys wanting to find the Dark Spark and the good guys trying to stop them.
Sniper Elite III
War Thunder
Sniper Elite III is a celebration of extravagant carnage - and, less significantly, a big improvement over 2012’s Sniper Elite V2. Its predecessor’s stiff, linear gameplay has been swapped out for a more open-ended, creativityenabling approach to stealth-shooting. But the big draw is the same violent X-ray-vision carnage that erupts whenever your bullets meet their targets. These slow-motion, long-range kills are what keep it from being just another generic-looking World War II shooter.
War Thunder is an MMO combat game dedicated to World War II military aviation, armored vehicles, and fleets. You will take part in all of the major combat battles, fighting with real players all over the world. The game offers a highly detailed and personalized aviation experience, giving players access to hundreds models of planes with detailed cockpits, dozens of upgradeable weapons, and flying skills that can be honed and improved with each mission. Thanks to the game’s painstaking attention to detail, you’ll truly feel like a World War II fighter pilot as you plunge into battle.

God’s Not Dead
Drama Release date: : 18 April 2014 (UK) Radisson finds the topic of religion painful because his Christian mother died when he was 12, though he had prayed and begged God to spare her life. This may be what led him to study philosophy so in depth that he ultimately became a philosophy professor, but his desire to now avoid the topic of religion does not mesh well with his career as a philosophy professor. This is not the only clue the movie makers give that they have read atheist material extensively.
