2015 was a big year for cruise.
Not only did the industry return to growth, it saw a massive 9% increase in the number of Brits taking a cruise.

Clearly consumers also took a greater interest in cruise holidays with 1.78 million people sailings last year.
Welcome to the first CLIA Yearbook in which we take a moment to look back at 2015, whilst at the same time looking forward to some of the opportunities in 2016. Last year was quite a year – a record number of Brits took a cruise holiday with almost 1.8 million on an ocean cruise and over 150,000 for the first time on a river cruise. Here at CLIA we also welcomed a record number of travel agent members – over 3,400 for the very first time. We invested in our website and our events, and as a result we trained more people, showcased more ships, welcomed more inspirational speakers and shared more news and resources than ever. We are sure that with all CLIA member cruise lines, travel agents and executive partners working together we can continue to grow the size of the cruise market and we really want to thank you for being a member of the cruise community and for everything that you do for the cruise industry.
