Moutard
The Moutard family has been making Champagne in the small village of Buxeuil, nestled in the Côte des Bar, just outside Troyes for the past 4 centuries. The estate comprises 21 hectares in the South-Eastern extremity of AOC Champagne. The vineyards range from 160 to 300 metres above sea-level, making them the highest of the appellation. Such a terroir is particularly well suited to the Pinot Noir which, as it reaches full maturity, produces delicious vinous champagnes with a strong personality. In order to offer perfectly mature Champagnes, the cuvees are left to mature in their cellars for a minimum of three years. The Grand Cuvee, made from 100% Pinot Noir, is a blend of several of the best vintages and the pillar of Moutard’s production.

Chéreau-Carré is one of the undoubted geniuses of Muscadet. The Chéreau family own substantial vineyards in some of the best locations of the Nantais and it is this wide variety of ‘terroirs’ that enables Bernard Chéreau to produce wines with vibrancy, freshness and vivacity a cut above the average Muscadet. Due to the large number of winegrowers in the area with the Chéreau name Monsieur Chéreau added Carré to his company name in 1960 to distinguish his wines. The name Chéreau-Carré today is a guarantee of top quality Muscadet.

Schloss Johannisberg
Great wines don’t happen by chance. They are the result of an ideal interplay of soil, grape variety, climate and winemaking. For nearly 1,200 years Schloss Johannisberg has embraced these conditions to produce the most elegant wines of the Rheingau. Each glass of Schloss Johannisberg is a monument to the history of wine and a moment of joy for the consumer. Schloss Johannisberg is the oldest Riesling-Estate of the world (100% Riesling since 1720). It is the home of the quality designations for German wine, most famously for Spätlese (late harvest — invented in 1775) but also for Auslese (selected harvest — in 1787) and Eiswein (wine from frozen grapes — in 1858). Schloss Johannisberg is enjoyed by wine connoisseurs all over the world.

Chateau Ksara
Chateau Ksara is the country’s oldest winery and something of a household name in the Lebanon. The winery’s strong traditions can be traced back to 1857 when a group of Jesuit monks acquired the property. The Jesuits applied their knowledge of science and agriculture to plant French vines as well as developing two kilometres of Roman caves that proved ideal for the storage of wine. The Jesuits sold the winery to its current owners in 1973. The micro-climate in the Bekka Valley provides Ksara’s 348 hectares of vineyard with the perfect climatic conditions to grow healthy grapes without the use of chemical herbicides. The vineyards are at an altitude of 1200m and benefit from an average of 240 days of sunshine per year. The heat of the summer is compensated by the freshness of the nights when a gentle breeze circulates along the valley. Chateau Ksara (built on the site of an old ksar or fortress) is appropriately located in the same valley as the Temple of Bacchus, the Roman god of wine and it was here that the Phoenicians perfected wine production more than 5000 years ago. A legacy that Ksara seek to continue. 14

The grapes are handpicked from vineyards around the Russian River in central Mendocino County, a flat, mineral rich area which produces grapes of great character. The Parducci wines are versatile and can be partnered with a variety of dishes — our favourite is the Parducci Petite Sirah, bursting with blackberry fruit and spice. Château Cissac
In 1895, Jacques Mondon, a lawyer in Pauillac, acquired several vineyards in the parish of Cissac-Medoc. He combined these different vineyards under the name of Chateau Cissac. In 1940 Louis Vialard inherited the property from his grandparents Mondon and he set about the task of restoring the vineyards and the outbuildings as well as the family home. The château is of a particular architectural style, “Chartreuse” of the 18th century and is probably on the site of a Roman Villa. 20
