Hello and Welcome I’m so glad that you’re considering using me for your family photography! I strive to provide my clients with a pleasing photography experience, great images and high end fill products, all at an affordable price. I specialize in creating works of art, to hang on your wall, to carry with you in an album, or frame and put on your desk. We live in a day where the priority to have digitals is high. However, they often remain on a hard drive, a CD or small USB. I design heirloom quality products that will be passed on to your future family members and that will be cherished by you and your loved ones for years to come. My main goal is to capture true emotions and connections to enjoy forever in a photograph. I want to capture more than just smiles. I want love, joy and happiness to resound in each image. Please read through this Welcome Guide thoroughly and be sure to contact me with any questions.
About Me I’m a Swedish mum to 4 boys, a wife and a dog owner. I love to live a busy life and with 4 boys it’s never boring! My family like to do sport activities, it’s a lifestyle to go on hikes, skiing bike rides and so on. My camera is and has always been with me. I just simple love to take photographs. My main goal is to tell a story from every photographs. I’m looking for connections between people and to capture it through lights and poses. I truly believe every person is beautiful and I can capture it with my camera. When I can help a mum to see her beauty or a teenager to feel happy or help a family that lost a family member to remember or simply create a memory of a small loved child. Then I know, I work with more than my passion. I would describe me as calm, strong minded with lots of patience. How stressed and worried I’m, as soon as I pick my camera up I’m happy. In 2011 I brought my studio lights and created my own studio. Since then I spent a lots of hours to learn about lights and understand my Canon 5 mark3. I have done online classes and college classes to learn even more. Through my previous profession as a pedagogue and the joy to have my children around I have learned to interact with children to capture their true personality. I have had my business Ulrika Orsing Photography since 2015. To wake up in the morning and know that today I’m going to capture a moment in somebody’s life. Makes me very happy! Your Photo Session Let’s meet! I invite you to come into my studio in Queens way Marina and look at my range of prints, album and canvases – discuss colour options and view the extensive photography prop range so we can plan your session. If you are too busy to come in, I’m happy to discuss by phone or email too! At the time we meet or talk I’m happy to book you in for your session.
When to book! The earlier the better, I offer limited spaces for sessions a week! Family Session can take place any time of the day, any time of the year. I suggest planning your family session around your children’s needs. Avoiding nap times so that they are nice and happy and willing for your session. Session take place at your chosen location for family portraits.
Newborn session should be booked at your earliest convenience to ensure I have a space. I book you in for your due date +7 days. When baby is born you contact me again and then we find the best day for you and your little ones. Newborn session is best done before baby is 14 days, ideally between 5-10 days. This is when baby sleeps the most and the best time to put baby in those sleepy curly poses that are unique to young newborn. If you have missed to book baby in to the ideally time, don’t worry! I do newborn sessions until baby is 6 weeks. Just be aware we will have a more alert and awake baby that isn’t as flexible. But when that is said, every child is unique and none of my sessions are alike! Session take place at my home studio for newborn sessions
Come and Choose your images! Two weeks following your session, we will meet again at my studio for you to see your images! This is where you get to choose which items you would like, and put together a wonderful package of fine art for your home. We’ll go through the images while I’m there to offer guidance and make sure all of your questions are answered. You’ll place your order and leave the studio with excitement and confidence about your order!
What to expect! I pride myself on giving my clients a very individual experience. As we move through the process together, I listen to your needs to ensure that you get the photographs you want and will be treasured for generations to come. You can be sure your small ones will be safe in caring and competent hands. I love connections with children and making parents feel comfortable and at ease. To make every session unique we will chat before session and customize your session so it will be unique for your family. Because I feel all pictures I take are beautiful I love to publish a few or make a blog post. This is something I always ask permission for do and we always write an agreement before session if pictures are allowed on internet or not. This is for you to feel safe!
Preparation When we book we make sure to book when it’s best for you or/and your child. When baby is most alert, happy and harmonious. Pictures will always be best when baby is well-rested and happy. Newborn photos are best done before baby is 12 days, and best to book when you are still pregnant. It’s good to eat before session and to bring a snack and drinks. Make sure to relax and see this as a fun experience to enjoy with baby. Don’t forget a change of clothes.
The studio For a photo session are you welcome to my studio in Queensway quay Marina in Gibraltar or if you prefer I also do sessions on locations. I think for newborn and younger babies it's better in my studio where I have all my props, a big selection of blankets, rugs, props, hats and more. We also keep the studio in right temperature for your small baby. My studio is a warm a, relaxing and inviting space where parents can relax while I photograph your Children. I aim to make this experience soothing and relaxing for my clients big and small.
My personal style Either we do photos in studio or on location I try to make it feel as relaxed and naturally as possible. We make it fun for your children and we are sensible to when they had enough. We sing and play. I try to catch children's naturally expressions and avoid to do unnatural setups as much as possible. All pictures I do is in colour but presents to you in a mix of both colour and black-white pictures.
FAMILY Your portrait session should be a reflection of your family. Before our session we will have a consultation so we can discuss your expectations, ideas, and goals for our session. Preparation and communication are the keys to a successful portrait session, so make sure to share all your ideas and concerns with me during our consultation!
Location! Finding the perfect location is an important part of planning for the photo shoot of your dreams. I have my favourite places, and usually make a recommendation during our consultation based on your personality and style, but I always welcome your location ideas. I’d love to know if there is a place that is sentimental to your family so we can discuss our options and plan the best location to suit your family.
Children Get your kids excited for the session and let them know how much fun it will be, but no need to over prepare them or add too much pressure for "best behaviour “Kids pick up on your stress, so stay cool, even when they throw a tantrum Our goal is to capture their true expressions, and keeping it light and fun is essential to that. Our best behaved children (and adults for that matter) are usually those that are well fed before our session. Feel free to bring treats to reward good behaviour during our session!
After our Session This is where it all comes together! You’ll come into the studio to view all of your best images in a slideshow. We’ll go through the images while I’m there to offer guidance and make sure all of your questions are answered. You’ll place your order and leave the studio with excitement and confidence about your order!
WHAT TO WEAR There are no “rules” when it comes to what to wear for your portraits. The most important thing is that you feel comfortable, and like yourself. “Remember, these portraits are about you, not your shoes!” Here are a few guidelines to help you pick out an outfit that will be flattering, show your personality, and bring the attention where it’s meant to be on your happy smiling face.
Coordinate Coordinate your outfit shows that you are a group, A Family. You belong together.
First, let’s be clear that this doesn’t mean everyone should match! Instead think about the style or clothes and coordinate that. If you’re going a bit more dressy make sure everyone is looking sharp. If you want a more natural look lets everyone wear something very casual and comfortable. Choose colours that complement each other. Pick similar tones, and colours in the same family. Lay out all your outfits, and see if they look nice together. No logos please. To keep the look timeless, try to avoid trendy clothing with words or logos. Be careful when you choose pattern so it won’t be to much. Always feel free to text or email me your clothing options laid out before our session!
MATERNITY Maternity Sessions are a beautiful way to create memories of your pregnancy showing the special love and connection that you and your family have with baby before he/she has arrived. These sessions take place between 33 and 36 weeks of pregnancy.
Location For maternity session outdoor is a good place, it gives a dreamier and family friendly look. Maternity images are beautiful done on beach, just before sunset or early in morning to capture sunrise. For pictures with lots of greenery Alameda garden is one of my favourite locations. Session can be indoor for a more personal and intimate look, where we can play with lights and backgrounds. My studio is in Queens way Marina in Gibraltar.
Preparation I love maternity sessions; you can play with so many different styles. Before your session we will discuss what style you want for your session. I have a lots of fabric and props to use. Session will take 30-60 minutes.

NEWBORN Welcoming your newest member of your family is an amazing time. A time you never want to forget. Your baby’s safety is the number 1 priority, so rest assured that your little one will be posed in the most careful way -and feel comfy all the time. The session will show off just how tiny your little one is. With solo portraits as well with Mum, Dad and siblings too. Newborn session takes place when baby is between 7-14 days, ideally between 5-10 days. This is when baby sleeps the most and the best time to put baby in those sleepy curly poses that are unique to young newborn. If you have missed to book baby in to the ideally time, don’t worry! During your session Once you arrive at my studio, I will start to swaddle baby. It’s an amazing way to make baby relaxed. “And so far I have never meet a baby that doesn’t finds it relaxing” Then we continue with any poses of Mum, Dad and siblings. After that we will move onto beanbag. Finally, we finish with any basket or bucket poses you want. We follow baby’s lead, and feed, sleep and snuggle on their schedule so be prepare for a session to last anywhere from 2-4 hours, so if we have arranged for sibling shots, please if you have someone who can take them after we done the sibling pictures so they don't get extremely bored or please have someone here to watch them (I do have some toys for them) My studio will be warm, relaxing and comfortable for baby and parents. Session is done in my studio in Queensway Quay Marina in Gibraltar. The studio temperature will be really high so your baby can be nice and warm. For your own comfort dress in layers.
Tip To guarantee your session please try to book 2 months in advance of your due date. When baby is born you contact me again and then we find the best day for you and your little ones.
Props I specialise in newborn and I have lots of beautiful props and outfits, we will be using, so you do not need to bring anything for your session, unless there is something you want to incorporate!
Preparation I will ask you to think of colours that you would like to see used in your session, and also if there are certain poses that you would like to do please let me know now before session so I can set up for it before hand, if there is not a particular pose you want I will just do the typical newborn poses that I normally do! For your newborn session we want your baby to be super sleepy, so if you could feed as much as you can right before your session (and burp him or her) so baby is nice and full and also bring extra milk or plan on breast feeding possibly once during the session if your baby needs! Also please bring your baby in a zip or button up pyjama sleeper so we do not have to pull any kind of shirt overhead and wake her/him. Please bring a pacifier if you let baby take one. Let me know if we are doing additional parent and sibling shots. In case we do please come dressed in clothes arranged for that. In session I want you to plan on just relaxing and watching while I work with your sweet baby. These sessions typically last around 3 hours

CHILDREN Watch them grow Some parents prefer for their baby to gain more of a personality before having photographs taken. Every stage in your baby’s life is special. Children session can be done in any age of life. By 6 months’ babies will begin to sit up unaided and will be able to interact with you and me, giving priceless expressions and lots of beautiful images. Then, as children get older they become more adventurous and full of energy – those smiling eyes and cheeky faces. By allowing your child to relax, have fun and be themselves I am able to capture who your child really is. Cheesy smiles and fixed poses is not my style. I understand that kids will be kids (I have four of my own) and there’s always time for a break, clothes change or snack! First Year session Milestone session are the best way to track your little one’s growth. As they move from mastering tummy time to sitting up, to crawling, and then walking. These sessions can take place Newborn, 6 months sitting time, and of course 1 years old walking!

First Communion
First Holy Communion is a special occasion in a young person’s life. It deserves to be respected and remembered with quality images. As a photographer with a great portrait studio, this is a time of the year that I really love. I love to see the children coming in all dressed up, proud and ready for their photo shoot.
Location For maternity session outdoor is a good alternation, for a more relaxed look. First Communion images are beautiful on beach. For pictures with lots of greenery Alameda garden is one of my favourite locations. They can be indoor for a more personal and formal look, where we can play with backgrounds. My studio is in Queens way Marina in Gibraltar. . The shoot usually lasts up to 1-2 hour.
FUN PORTRAIT SHOOT My First Holy Communion portrait sessions are fun and give you amazing beautiful memories which will last a lifetime. Various portraits of the communion child and Various portraits of the child with their immediate family and siblings Subject to availability, my studio will welcome you with open arms on the day of your child’s First Holy Communion. For days that are completely booked out, I recommend doing the shoot prior to the actual First Holy Communion day. This ensures that I am available to photograph your child and it frees up a part of your day which gives you more time for friends and family on the actual day. Having the portrait shoot prior to the actual First Holy Communion day sounds odd but it really is a great way of doing it. I prefer whichever you choose.
