HELLO I am so excited you have chosen me to capture the new addition to your family and I look forward to creating not only memories, but timeless images as well. Newborn portraiture is an investment and I am looking forward to capturing your family in a natural, artistic way, creating the heirlooms that you will be able to look back on and remember the tiny details of this time in your lives. This welcome kit shares what you can expect from your photography experience with me and provides helpful, important tips on having a successful session. WHAT TO EXPECT •

Before your session, I would like to know if there are any special colours or items you would like included. This will help me create a more personal and customised session for you. At session, you can expect to sit back and relax while I work with your baby through a series of poses. Then we’ll do a few portraits of mom, dad, and or sibling towards the end. About 2 weeks after your session, you come back to studio to see your beautiful images. From there you are able to select and order. Once the order is placed, I will deliver your beautiful prints to you in 3-4 weeks.
HOW TO PREPARE Here are a few tips for your session 1. Firstly, feed baby just before leaving house, changed and feeling nice and comfortable prior to the session is absolutely essential to a successful outcome. 2. If you can keep baby awake for an hour before coming this can help them sleep during the session. Some tricks would be to give baby a bath or undress them down to their nappy (do not get them cold though). 3. If you can dress baby in and outfit that is easy to take off at the session this will help keep baby calm while doing different poses. 4. Bring a pacifier, even if they haven’t used one before it can make a huge difference to keeping baby calm while doing different poses. 5. Baby will usually fall in sleep on the car ride to the session. When you arrive bring baby in the car seat to keep them settle and asleep. If walking preparing to carry you stroller down a few steps to studio, it’s important we keep baby continuing sleeping when you arrive. 6. If breast feeding, watch what you eat 24 hours prior to session, this makes a huge difference to having a settle baby at the time, non- spicy foods and no coffee as a suggestion. 7. The room will be kept very warm as baby loses body heat very quickly, so wear layers yourself so you don’t get too hot. 8. I use a shusher machine which can help keep baby calm and sleepy. 9. Be prepared to feed baby during the session. We like to keep baby happy and settled. Getting rid of wind is also important to keep baby comfortable for longer. 10. If you have any posing ideas you would like or colours you wish used just let me know in advance. Pinterest is fantastic to give you some ideas of poses. Planning helps make the session run smoothly. 11. If you are doing some no clothes poses, I can pretty much guarantee a mess will be made, have nappies ready and don’t panic it’s all part of the job. 12. No cameras are allowed in the studio, no cell phone pictures please.
FAQs: When is the best time to do my session? How long will it last? Newborn sessions are best done within the forts 10 days after birth. You can expect your session to take up to 2-3 hours. There may be times we have to wait for baby to fall asleep in order to get them posed without to much fussing
What should I bring? Bring what you would normally pack in your diaper bag and an extra pair of clothes. I provide most of the props, hats, hair ties, wraps, etc for my sessions. However, if you have an heirloom items or somethings sentimental that you would like to incorporate, please feel free to bring it! Since the room is warm, plan to bring water to stay hydrated. Bring a pacifier, even if they haven’t used one before
What should I wear? I always suggest keeping it simple and avoid busy patterns. A simple black or white? Light plain cotton knit cami or shirt is always beautiful. If you are planning to do skin to skin, plan to bring a strapless tip or tank. Make sure you dress for the warmth or the studio.
Do you have a referral program? I love referrals and it’s the biggest honour when you share my name with your friends and family. If a client shares your name when they book their session, you’ll receive a £10 credit towards your next session or product purchase.
PRINTS I offer both art pieces and digital files. I believe a printed image or album to be the most valuable way to highlight your art. However, digital files are a product that’s in demand so I gladly offer them but I want to stress how important it is to print them! IT’S ONE THING TO HIRE A PROFESSIONAL, ITS ANOTHER THING TO DO SOMETHING WITH THE IMAGES.
I have found most people that buy digital image, are planning to print but never get around to do so. Don’t let your child grow up on a hard drive! It’s become an epidemic today that children have few, if any images of themselves displayed in the home, Research studies have proven that prominently display portraits of the family DO improve a Childs’s self-worth.
PORTRAITS DISPLYED IN THE HOME INCREASE A CHILD’S SELF- ESTEEM.
It’s important to understand, digital negatives are not archival. They will eventually corrupt. Technology has not yet advanced enough for electronic files to be persevered long-term. The safest place for your images is to print them. A professional print is archival and will last generation to come.
A PRINT IS ARCHIVAL. IT WILL LAST. A DIGITAL FILE IS ELECTRONIC, IT WON’T
We can always make a new digital negative from a print. We CAN NOT print form a corrupted file.

Studio My studio is in Queensway quay Marina. Number 6 The Island. First gate by Queensway quay Roundabout you press the button to call security guard and tell them you are going to The Island number 6. Next gate guard is there to let you in. You can park right outside my house. Entrance to studio is on right hand side of the house.
