Your guide will track the murders and sift through the evidence in a case that terrorised London, baffled the Victorian police, and has fascinated people around the world. Travel by high speed train from London King’s Cross to Edinburgh. On arrival, enjoy a walking tour that includes the famous Royal Mile. Free time gives you the chance to visit the Scotch Whiskey Heritage Centre, Edinburgh Castle or the Palace of Holyrood House. Then it’s on to a two day tour of what Scotland is all about – the Highlands. The first day includes a stop at the Wallace Monument, commemorating ‘Braveheart’s’ stand against Edward I, as well as a visit to Stirling Castle, one of the oldest castles in Scotland. Then, onto the mountains where we admire the wild beauty of Glencoe and Rannach Moor. The day ends for a photo-stop on the shores of Loch Ness, where you can start your own search party for Nessie, the elusive Loch Ness monster. On the third day of your tour, we go to the site of the last highland charge, Culloden Moor, to visit Culloden Battlefield. Then on to Pilotchry set under the dramatic skyline of Ben Vrackie. The final Highland visit will be the Hermitage - Birnam Wood in Shakespeare’s “Macbeth”.
