You are invited to the opening launch of

The Australian ‘Settler’ Problem David Jones 6pm Saturday 13 April 2019 Umbrella Studio Contemporary Arts

This exhibition by David Jones interrogates societal denial of the violent nature of Australia’s national foundation as a ‘settler’ problem, which was framed by the contemporary clinical and social concept of a ‘vicious cycle of anxiety’. The work aims to disrupt the denial of invasion and the erasure of Aboriginal culture through accepted narratives of European settlement of Australia.
