University Celebrates Largest Archival Gift THE HISTORICAL ARCHIVE of the AFL-CIO will make the university a center for labor studies, Presi dent Loh announced at a ceremony on October 1. As the largest archival gift ever received by the University Libraries, the donation will fill six miles of shelving—a distance, Loh noted in his remarks, that stretches nearly two-thirds of the way from College Park to the U.S. Department of Labor headquarters in Washington, D.C.
