A Nationally ranked university in your own backyard Through its Division of Outreach, the University of Mississippi operates four regional campuses in North Mississippi to support the University's mission to provide outstanding educational opportunities to citizens throughout the state and region. When you enroll at one of our regional campuses, you can expect the same high standards of academic excellence that you would find on our main campus in Oxford. The regional campuses work in conjunction with area community college partners to help students complete their college degrees through bachelor's programs. Junior and senior-level coursework is offered through day, evening and online courses. Students are able to continue working, maintain important roles in family life and stay active in the community. Degree programs and course offerings vary by campus. Please contact your individual campus of interest to learn more about available programs. As a transfer student, your move to the Ole Miss family will be one of the most important in your life. Here are just a few of the reasons why transferring to Ole Miss is the right move: • Your academic course work during your first two years will plug right into our bachelor’s degree programs and let you stay on track. • Because of smaller classes, our excellent teachers are able to take a personal interest in their students. • Our Financial Aid Office has staff members devoted to the regional campuses. These Financial Aid Counselors work hard to help you receive the combination of grants, scholarships, loans and employment you need to finance your education. • Our Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) scholarship is worth $8,000 ($4,000 per year for two years). Nonresident PTK members will receive an additional $3,000 per year for two years toward the nonresident fee.
Applying for Admission Transfer Admissions Requirements It is recommended that you talk with a UM admissions counselor prior to applying to ensure that the proper prerequisites to begin the junior year of your degree program have been met. Transfer students may be admitted under one of the following conditions: • Earn an associate’s degree intended for transfer to a four-year school from an accredited community college with a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA as calculated by The University of Mississippi. • Have a 2.0 cumulative GPA as calculated by the University of Mississippi on all transferable credit and have successfully completed at least the following 30* semester hours of college work with a 2.00 cumulative GPA at a regionally accredited school: 6 semester hours of English Composition 3 semester hours of College Algebra, Quantitative Reasoning or a higher level math 6 semester hours of Laboratory Science 9 semester hours of Humanities and Fine Arts 6 semester hours of Social or Behavioral Sciences • Meet the freshman admissions requirements and have at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA on transferable credit from a regionally accredited college or university. * To complete a degree at a UM regional campus, a student should have completed all freshman and sophomore coursework (40-60 semester hours) prior to transfer.
All applicants should submit required materials in advance of the term for which they intend to enroll. Apply for Admission Applicants are encouraged to apply for admission online at www.olemiss.edu/apply. There is a non-refundable application fee ($40 for Mississippians; $60 for non-residents) that can be paid by credit or debit card online or by check or money order. Please be sure to include your application # on your check or money order. Submit Transcripts To be admitted to the University of Mississippi, please ask each college you have previously attended to send an official (sealed or emailed E-script) copy of your transcript directly to: University of Mississippi Undergraduate Admissions, P.O. Box 1848, University, MS 38677. For advising purposes, you will also need to provide an unofficial copy of your transcript to your Academic Advisor on the UM regional campus you plan to attend. Submit Immunization Documentation All applicants born after January 1, 1957, must submit proof of two immunizations for measles and one for rubella prior to registration. The medical history and certificate of compliance forms are available in the main offices on the regional campuses or you may print a form at www.olemiss.edu/depts/stu_health. Submit these documents to the Oxford campus address indicated on the form. Please contact Student Health Services at (662) 915-7274 if you have any questions regarding the immunization requirements. Meet with an Academic Advisor Academic advising is available on the regional campuses and is required before registering for courses each semester. Call your campus’s main office to schedule an appointment with an academic advisor after you receive your admission acceptance letter. For advising purposes, you will need to provide an unofficial copy of your transcript to your academic advisor. Stay Updated Check your regional campus website for course schedules, registration dates, textbook information and other important information. You can also follow your campus on Facebook or Twitter to stay current. Orientation All transfer students must attend an orientation session to prepare for enrollment at the university. Orientation includes all of the important information you need as a student on an Ole Miss regional campus such as how to order textbooks, how to obtain library research materials, etc. You will also take care of a few housekeeping items such as having your student i.d. made and registering your vehicle for parking. Each admitted student receives orientation information prior to his or her declared term of enrollment.

Between the spring and summer semesters, and the fall and spring semesters, students may participate in intensive Intersession courses, which meet five nights a week for two weeks. These include Wintersession during the beginning of January, May Intersession in the final weeks of May, and August Intersession offered in the first weeks of August. Students also have the option of enrolling in Summer School courses that are offered in various semester terms including First Summer (June), Second Summer (July) and Full Summer (June and July). Please contact the Admissions Counselor on your regional campus to prepare for enrollment in your semester of choice.
The university offers a wide array of financial aid opportunities, including scholarships, grants, loans and work-study. For more information on these and other awards, contact the Financial Aid Advisor on your regional campus. Eligible GPA is based on the university's method of calculating transfer GPA. Scholarships You must be admitted to the university to be considered for the scholarships listed below. Students must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, and must be transferring directly from a community college. The calculation of the transfer GPA will include the grades from all prior colleges attended. You must be enrolled full-time to receive these awards. Additional details can be found on the financial aid webpage of each regional campus site. The total scholarship award is not to exceed the cost of attendance. Lyceum Scholars Awards • Award Amount: Full resident tuition per year for two years (fall and spring semesters) • Eligibility: Transfer students with at least a 3.0 overall transfer GPA and 48 transferable community college credit hours and an exemplary record of leadership and service. Selection is competitive. • How to Apply: Complete the Community College Transfer Scholarship Application. Community College Leadership Scholarships • Award Amount: $5,000 ($2,500 per year for two years) • Eligibility: Transfer students with at least a 3.0 overall transfer GPA and 48 transferable community college credit hours and an exemplary record of leadership and service. Selection is competitive. • How to Apply: Complete the Community College Transfer Scholarship Application. Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Scholarships • Award Amount: $8,000 ($4,000 per year for two years) • Eligibility: Transfer students with a 3.5 GPA on at least 48 transferable community college credit hours and membership in Phi Theta Kappa. Members of the All Mississippi Team will receive an additional one-time-only $1,000 scholarship, and an additional $1,000 one-timeonly scholarship will be awarded to those students who become members of the All American Team. Nonresident PTK members will receive an additional $3,000 per year for two years towards the nonresident fee. • How to Apply: No separate application required; PTK must be indicated on official transcript, or students may bring a copy of the PTK membership card to the Office of Financial Aid or fax a copy to 662-915-1164.
Phi Theta Kappa President Scholarships • Award Amount: $1,000 ($500 per year for two years) • Eligibility: community college transfer students who served as the president of Phi Theta Kappa at their community college. These scholarships are awarded to community college transfer students with a 3.5 overall transfer GPA or higher and 48 transferable community college credit hours. Students must be enrolled full-time to receive this award. • How to Apply: Provide documentation of status to the Office of Financial Aid. Documentation may be faxed to 662-915-1164. Community College Academic Excellence Scholarships (Tier 1 & 2) • Award Amount: TIER 1: $3,000 ($1,500 per year for two years) for community college transfer students with a 3.00-3.49 overall transfer GPA OR TIER 2: $4,000 ($2,000 per year for two years) for community college transfer students with a 3.5 overall transfer GPA or higher Non-residents may also receive an additional $3000 per year for two years toward the non-resident fee. • Eligibility: Awarded to community college transfer students who have earned at least 48 transferable community college credit hours. Students must be enrolled full-time to receive this award. • How to Apply: Students must complete the UM admissions application. No additional application is required. Luckyday University Scholarships • Award Amount: $9,200 (up to $4,600 per year) • Eligibility: Awarded to a select group of 25 community college transfer students with a 2.5 overall transfer GPA on at least 48 transferable community college credit hours. Students receiving this award must be Mississippi residents and must be transferring from a Mississippi community college. In addition, students selected must have remaining financial need as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) after other scholarships and grants have been awarded. • How to Apply: To be considered for this scholarship, transfer students must file the FAFSA by March 1 and

should complete the Community College Transfer Scholarship Application by March 1. Mississippi Community College Advantage Scholarships • Award Amount: 50% of tuition per year for two years (fall & spring semesters only) • Eligibility: Awarded to a select group of 25 community college transfer students with a 2.5 overall transfer GPA or higher on at least 48 transferable community college credit hours. Students receiving this award must be Mississippi residents and must be transferring from a Mississippi community college. In addition, students selected must have remaining financial need as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) after other scholarships/ grants have been awarded and must be Pell eligible with a family adjusted gross income of $30,000 or less. • How to Apply: To be considered for this scholarship, file the FAFSA and complete the Community College Transfer Scholarship Application no later than March 1.

Community College Student Body President Scholarships • Award Amount: $2,000 ($1,000 per year for two years) • Eligibility: Community college transfer students who served in the top elected position at their community college. • How to Apply: Provide documentation of status to the Office of Financial Aid, and be admitted to UM. Osher Reentry Scholarships • Award Amount: Up to $2,500 per year ($1,250/semester) Awards are subject to availability of funds. • Eligibility: Students who are pursuing their first baccalaureate degree; have experienced a cumulative gap in their education of five or more years since high school graduation or attainment of GED; who are enrolled at least half-time, are US Citizens between 25 and 50 years old; and have demonstrated financial need as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). • How to Apply: Complete the Osher Reentry Scholarship Application online at www.olemiss.edu/osher beginning April 1, with a deadline of July 1. UM Regional Campus Scholarships • Award Amount: Rates of scholarship are as follows: A student with a 3.5 to 4.0 GPA receives $1,000 per semester for four consecutive fall/spring semesters. A student with a 2.5 to 3.499 GPA receives $400 per semester for four consecutive fall/spring semesters. • Eligibility: Transferring to a regional campus; applicants must have at least a 2.5 GPA, based on the University’s
method of calculating the transfer GPA, on a minimum of 48 hours from a community/junior college. • How to Apply: Apply for admission to the University of Mississippi and complete the UM Regional Campus Scholarship Application online at www.olemiss.edu/regional_application by July 1 or by January 1 for spring admission. Robert E. Oesterling Non-Resident Scholarships • Award Amount: Students who meet the requirements may receive a scholarship to cover the portion of tuition that is charged to out-of-state students above the cost of resident tuition (cost will vary depending on number of enrolled hours). • Eligibility: Eligible students must hold at least a 3.0 GPA (as calculated by UM) • How to Apply: Apply for admission to the University of Mississippi and complete the UM Regional Campus Scholarship Application online at www.olemiss.edu/regional_application. DeSoto Center 2+2 Foundation Scholarships • Award Amount: $1,000 per year ($500 per semester) • Eligibility: Competitive scholarships awarded to a number of Northwest Community College transfer students who are DeSoto County residents, must hold a 2.5 transfer GPA • How to Apply: Apply for admission to the University of Mississippi and complete the UM Regional Campus Scholarship Application online by July 1 at www.olemiss.edu/regional_application. Military Service Non-Resident Scholarships • Award Amount: This scholarship is a fee-specific award to cover the non-resident fee only. It may be combined with other non-resident scholarships only until the full non-resident charge is met. There will be no funds disbursed in excess of the full non-resident charge. • Eligibility: New students who have been engaged in and honorably discharged from active duty for other than training purposes in the United States Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, or Coast Guard. • How to Apply: Apply for admission to the University of Mississippi. Provide a copy of the DD214 to the Veterans' Administrator in the Registrar's Office. Documentation may be faxed to 662-915-7793.
Mississippi Tuition Assistance Grant (MTAG) • Award Amount: $1,000 per year; MTAG is prorated for those students who receive a Pell Grant; therefore, students who receive the maximum Pell award will not be eligible for MTAG. • Eligibility: One-year Mississippi residency and full-time enrollment are required. (2.50 cumulative GPA required.) • How to Apply: Applications are available online at: www.mississippi.edu/riseupms/financialaid.php. All requirements must be completed by September 15 of each year. Note: Be sure to let the State Office of Financial Aid know that you are changing institutions so they will direct your funds appropriately. Federal Pell Grant • Award Amount: Up to $5,645 is available to qualifying students. Award amounts are prorated based on the number of hours for which you are enrolled. • Eligibility: Determined by the federal processor based on a formula approved by Congress. The formula uses the information that is supplied by the parent and /or student on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Only undergraduate students who have not previously received a bachelor's degree are eligible. Students may receive up to the lifetime limit, which is the equivalent of 6 full-time years in college. (600%) • How to Apply: Complete the FAFSA application online at www.fafsa.gov.
Sumners Grant • Award Amount: $625 to $5,000 depending on the number of hours enrolled; the amount of the Sumners Grant shall not exceed the cost of attendance when combined with all other types of aid received by the student. • Eligibility: The student must be a resident of Attala, Carroll, Choctaw, Montgomery or Webster County in Mississippi who desires and can benefit from a higher education. All applicants must have resided for 12 continuous months in one of the five Sumners counties prior to enrollment. All applicants must be enrolled in a degree program at the institution. Independent students who have not established a residence in one of the Sumners counties may not establish eligibility by the address of parents who reside in one of the eligible counties. • How to Apply: Students must complete the Sumners Grant application online at www.olemiss.edu/finaid/sumners2.html and indicate the academic year for which they are applying. The Sumners Foundation verifies residency in the appropriate counties for all applicants.
