Cryotherapy Cold Air Device on Loan to UMS-Wright Trainers Cryotherapy is a fancy word for “super-icing” treatment. The Cryotherapy cold air device uses short duration therapy with temperatures derived from refrigerated forced air rather than lengthy applications of traditional ice treatments. The dry, colder temperature (which range from -25 to -75 degrees F) helps sustain reduced muscle temperature without compromising the skin through lengthy exposure and allows the skin temperature to return to normal while deeper tissue and muscle temperatures remain cold for improved results. Cold air therapy can reduce the skin temperature 32 degrees F in 15-20 seconds versus the traditional ice pack which takes 15-20 minutes to get to just the mid 50 degrees F range. The entire treatment duration with the Cryotherapy device is between 1-2 minutes but has a lasting effect comparable to other treatments beyond 1 hour post treatment. For more information regarding this type of injury treatment, please contact Stacy Harrelson at 470-9058.

NAIS Super Schools Day Program The University of Mobile men’s tennis team, participated in the NAIA National Men’s and Women’s tournament, and they took part in the NAIA Super Schools Day Program. The program is designed to promote tennis to elementary school students. The lower school students had such a good time playing tennis during their PE classes.

Fall Football Advertising If you would be interested in having an ad for your business included in the 2012 UMSWright Fall Football program, which features all of our varsity sports teams, please contact Molly Nordmann in the Athletic Department (mnordmann@ums-wright.org) by June 15.
