The Commencement Exercises for the Class of 2015 took place on May 21, 2015 and represented the official conclusion of the 2014-15 school year. For members of the faculty and staff, the ceremony was a touching farewell to a remarkable group of young ladies and gentlemen who comprised the class. The date was also the final day of what had been one of the most demanding, memorable, and productive years in the school’s history. Without question, sharing the evening with the graduates was an uplifting way to finalize a memorable year of one’s career. One of the constant outcomes of any UMS-Wright Graduation has been the realization that the former pupils not only learned their lessons well but that they also could enlighten their teachers and their parents through their words and deeds. The speeches of Salutatorian Annie Maisel and Valedictorian Brown Sisson provided salient examples of this fact. Two of their comments illustrated what they had learned and provided wisdom that the adults who heard their speeches would do well to internalize. Annie emphasized her appreciation for the diverse talents and impressive achievements of her classmates as follows: “If only I had exercised as much as I read, then I would not have been the only person here who hasn’t lettered in a sport or set a school or state record. However, I am truly impressed with all our athletes have achieved even though I personally lack athleticism. I am fully aware that our class has achieved numerous athletic accolades, and I am in complete awe of those who succeed not only on the field or on the court but can bring that same focus into a classroom.” While Annie’s realizations might be unique at some schools, her words were an accurate, eloquent, and sincere expression of the widespread appreciation that members of the UMS-Wright student body have acquired for the individual abilities and interests of fellow students. UMS-Wright’s students are not Balkanized by their personal talents but have been unified by respect and admiration for the accomplishments of others. Such levels of maturity and esprit de corps have created a school culture in which high achievement has been celebrated by students and teachers alike. As a member of the UMS-Wright family, Annie Maisel possessed an appreciation for the hard work and self-sacrifice which led to successes in academics, the arts, and athletics for her UMS-Wright brothers and sisters.

Valedictorian Brown Sisson’s speech, while it focused on the future rather than experiences at UMS-Wright, was just as meaningful and impressive as Annie’s. Although he did allude briefly to lessons learned at UMS-Wright, he described his view of the characteristics needed to be a successful, self-actualized adult. “I challenge you, Class of 2015, to find something you love, and just like what is required to do well on an English essay, pour your heart into it. In moving forward, I encourage all of us to find something that truly makes us who we are, rather than go through the motions and continue along the beaten path. In today’s world, do not feel like you must do the norm in order to succeed. There has never been a better time for individualism in our nation, and people no longer feel inclined to fade into normalcy. Those who are successful in today’s world, the true movers and shakers of our society, are the innovators and those who follow a passion. People who are not afraid to fail and to try new things are the people who eventually discover what they excel in and love.” While they were, in terms of their cumulative grade point averages, the top two students in their graduating class; Annie Maisel and Brown Sisson were accurate representatives of the overall quality of their classmates. Their quotes revealed two different beliefs which are prevalent among UMS-Wright graduates; and these two beliefs, along with the value system which produced them, have enabled Annie, Brown, and their fellow members of the Class of 2015 to separate themselves from the common herd within their generation. The Graduation Ceremony for the Class of 2015 was understandably poignant for UMS-Wright faculty, friends, and parents who had one last occasion on which they could show their appreciation and affection for eighty-three young men and women who have permanently affected countless lives for the better. Without question, any feelings of nostalgia evoked by the ceremony were offset by the great anticipation of what such uniquely capable graduates will be able to accomplish as another generation of servant-leaders who call UMS-Wright home.

Reflecting Back and Looking Forward

LOWER SCHOOL It’s a wonderful time to be a part of the Lower School! In the upcoming school year there will be a few new additions to our academic programs that will allow us to continue to grow our students in Mind, Body, and Spirit. Critical Thinking and Problem Solving We are eager to provide a unique enrichment class for the upcoming year! Students in grades one through five will have an opportunity to hone their thinking and problem solving skills in a creative, challenging, and collaborative environment. Through developmentally appropriate activities, students will work to advance their organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills. Being a Writer Our staff is excited to implement a program titled “Being a Writer” for the 2015-2016 school year. The “Being a Writer” program will provide a clear scope and sequence for writing instruction throughout the Lower School while allowing students to perfect the art of writing through the use of the workshop model. The program is designed to create classroom experiences that allow students to develop a love of writing while polishing their written communication skills. i.e. Implementation In the upcoming year we will be infusing our educational program with the use of iPads and MacBooks in grades K4-5. The use of infused technology will allow us to create teaching and learning environments that are dynamic and natural – enabling students the opportunity to sharpen the skills they will use to be successful in the 21st century. Teachers are committed to finding new ways to effectively integrate technology into our routines while still remaining the driving force for the curriculum. Patricia Boehm, Lower School Principal

It’s going to be a great year!

MIDDLE SCHOOL As we conclude another successful school year, I want to reflect on the new programs that were implemented as well as provide a glimpse into the future of the Middle School at UMS-Wright. In keeping with our mission of educating students “…to their highest potential,” we began to infuse our curriculum with two technologybased classes. All of our middle school science students embraced the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) program. Students were engaged more than ever before with the hands-on lessons and labs. Working cooperatively helped to hone their communication skills as well as their problem solving skills as they completed complex research projects. Our seventh grade Classical and Modern Language students studied French and Spanish by using Middlebury College Online Interactive Studies. The technology aspect of this program allowed our students to go beyond the basic vocabulary and objectives traditionally covered in a beginning language class. In fact, the students were exposed to live conversations, which allowed them to feel immersed in the dialect as well as the French and Spanish cultures. As exams came to a close, renovations for our new Media Center and the construction of our new 5th and 6th Grade Building began. With the new technology-infused curriculum and the restorations and additions to our facilities, it is an exciting time to be a UMS-Wright Bulldog!

UPPER SCHOOL

Wes Lathan, Assistant Principal, Middle School

The 2014-2015 school year was very exciting! The new i.e. implementation describes how an education at UMS-Wright is infused with all types of “tools” (MacBook air computers, learning management systems, STEM classrooms, SMART technologies) to prepare our students while they are here at UMS-Wright and as they extend their education far beyond the gates on Old Shell Road. But without the expert hands of the craftsman, the UMS-Wright teacher, these tools will only be implements that add additional weight without bringing any real value. The UMS-Wright faculty and staff utilize their “tools of the trade” very effectively and efficiently, as is evident by the wonderful students they help shape, form, and finish. No matter what the “tool belt” of the future looks like in education, UMS-Wright remains committed to the mission of “... to educate all students to their highest potential in mind, body, and spirit.” Doug Barber, Middle & Upper School Principal

Chairman’s Address What an exciting school year 2014-15 was for UMS-Wright! Most obviously, the members of the Class of 2015 deserve congratulations for their achievements in academics, arts, athletics, and community service. In particular, events such as Baccalaureate and Graduation showed that these young men and women possessed both extraordinary ability and outstanding character. Their legacy will be an example of excellence in mind, body, and spirit that future students can follow. Also, I would like to congratulate our remarkable UMS-Wright staff and administration for their accomplishments over the past school year. New programs such as Academic Support and STEM curriculum created great excitement while faculty members also prepared for the full implementation of infused education and learning during the 2015-16 school year. The dedication and passion with which staff members worked each day ensured that both new and existing programs would be successful. I am extremely excited about the amazing possibilities that exist for the upcoming year and for all UMS-Wright students. Another great pleasure during the past school year was working with the administration and observing their enthusiasm for the direction the school is headed. There is a very clear optimism about what the future holds for students and staff members associated with the school we all love. The start of our new capital campaign, ADVANCING OUR MISSION, has been a huge success thus far. Under the leadership of Campaign Chairman Joe Bullard, total contributions to the campaign have already reached more than $5.9 million. Mr. Bullard’s efforts and the commitment of the school community have made the total goal of $8.5 million a very reachable goal. In fact, I am confident that we will exceed the $8.5 million total. I anticipate an excellent 2015-16 school year and wish each family the very best.

Advancing Our Mission Capital Campaign Update

Wow! It’s amazing how fast time passes especially as you get older. At the ripe old age of 65, it seems to me like just yesterday that we kicked off our Advancing Our Mission Campaign. It’s an ambitious campaign with a goal of raising $8.5 million to implement modern, state of the art academic programs and also make necessary physical improvements to our aging campus that was built in 1958. We have had an incredible start with pledges of over $5.9 million and are on our way to achieving our goal. The UMS-Wright family has responded like always with a generous heart and a love for this school that I feel is unparalleled in our part of the country. A BIG ‘Thank You’ to all who have so generously given, and we would respectfully ask those that haven’t made a commitment yet to prayerfully consider being a part of such an honorable effort to help our students achieve the highest goals in life. Because of our early success, we are moving forward with the full implementation of our STEM program and construction of the 5th and 6th grade building. We promised to be fiduciary responsible and good stewards of the money that has been raised. Both of these projects have been identified by our administration as their top priorities. It’s my honor and privilege to serve as your Chairman of the Advancing Our Mission Capital Campaign.

Joe Bullard, Jr.

Campaign Chair

Alway s Bright.

that was Krisanna.

When the color yellow is mentioned, BRIGHT is the first thing that comes to mind. BRIGHT is the perfect adjective to describe the life of Krisanna Roberts. Each September, our student body, administration, and faculty honor the life of Krisanna by participating in “Yellow Week,” which is held during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Organized by the YELLO Club (You Enable Love, Loving Others), which is a club inspired by the life of Krisanna, Yellow Week is a time for students to purchase and wear yellow accessories with ALL proceeds going to organizations that fight pediatric cancer. The club also sponsors a team for the St. Jude’s Give Thanks Walk in November, and hosts the final rest stop on the St. Jude’s Memphis to Mobile Run each spring. Throughout the school year, the YELLO Club chooses a person or a group within the UMS-Wright family to surprise with a small token of appreciation. The hope is that this will brighten the recipient’s day and cause that person to continue passing along this “yellow” feeling, which so accurately exemplified Krisanna’s life. The class of 2015 donated this cross in memory of their classmate, Krisanna, to be displayed in her garden. Here, Krisanna’s mom Laura Roberts is pictured with her niece Adelaide Bell and her sister Mollie Bell.

4

As we prepared for Baccalaureate, I pondered what Krisanna would have said in her speech. Like those who joined the class along the journey, she would have thanked all of you for your welcoming arms and your great friendship. [She also would have told you to save the planet, play the glad game, and run like the wind.] I remembered telling Krisanna’s friend Mr. Wiley that I was struggling with the decision to move her to UMS-Wright. “Why? “ he asked. “Well, she’ll have a lot more walking to do, and what if she falls?” “You’re right,” he said. “What if she falls?” He waited. I realized, “I guess she’ll pick herself up and keep going.” - Laura Roberts

CONGRATULATIONS

CLASS

“Mrs. Roberts, will you remember us in twenty years?”

OF 2015

A couple of you were sitting in my office when a student from 20+ years prior came by on an admissions tour. I was overjoyed to see her with her precious little ones, and as I returned to our conversation after they left, you asked, “Mrs. Roberts, will you remember us in twenty years?” I remember at the time thinking, “Well, of course! I remembered your father when you walked in my door twenty years after I taught him!” However instead of comparing a teen to his father, I simply assured, “Well, of course I will. How could I forget you?”

I would like to make sure that none of us forgets how truly blessed we are. Very few people are given the opportunity to complete their education at such an edifying institution as UMS-Wright. For the instruction, leadership, care, and patience that our family, faculty, coaches, and friends at UMS have given us, we will be eternally grateful. Without a single one of the people sitting in the auditorium today, none of us would be where we are. I would be remiss not to acknowledge the example of true thankfulness, dedication, and selflessness that our classmate Krisanna Roberts laid out for us. I think that all of you would agree that she is indeed here with the class of 2015 tonight. In the words of Krisanna and 2010 valedictorian Drew Ferguson, I feel confident that all of us have a promising future—vibrant, rewarding, and bathed in sunshiney yellow. -Brown Sisson, Valedictorian Though some of us end with 14 years here at UMS-Wright and others finish with a fraction of that, each of us leaves with an overwhelming collection of opportunities, gifts, and, more importantly, memories. Though I never experienced the Easter Day parade, the plaid skirts, or the bangs and braces of middle school with my classmates, I am lucky enough to say that, despite spending only four short years as a UMS-Wright Bulldog, I leave with the same expectations, lessons, and values of mind, body, and spirit. -Annie Maisel, Salutatorian

Touching the community

15,188 hours at a time.

Lower School: During the 2014-2015 school year, the lower school performed many random acts of kindness. With a focus on “paying it forward” in our Wright Way classes, we learned how our actions might cause chain reactions creating that domino effect. During the month of November, we collected cans for the Joseph Project. We were able to help 100 families in our surrounding school neighborhood. K5 visited Westminster Village on November 17th and sang songs from their Thanksgiving program. They were able to “perform” for two sets of residents there. In December, each grade level supported various charities around our community: —K4 - Made ornaments for Wilmer Hall —K5 - Donated toiletry items to the residents of Westminster Village —1st grade - Collected toys to benefit Penelope House —2nd grade - Exceeded the goal in donating over 100 toys / toiletries to USA Children’s and Women’s Hospital —3rd grade - Supported Dumas Wesley’s The Joseph Project in feeding and caring for the homeless with cans and toiletries to fill up backpacks —4th grade - Brought in clothing, toiletries, and food for the Government Street Presbyterian Church Coffee Club Christmas Party —5th grade - Collected toys for The Ransom Café Candy Cane Christmas

This year the Arts Department presented a grand production of The King & I directed by Fine and Performing Arts Director Laura Roberts with 90+ students from grades 2-12. Alumni joined current band students in the orchestra under the direction of Mr. Daniel Massey and Mrs. Melissa Jokerst. Gorgeous costumes coordinated by Ms. Diane Maisel complemented the stunning sets designed by alumnae Ms. Pier Hardin and Mrs. Margaret Delaney. Crowds who also enjoyed a fabulous accompanying visual art exhibit of photography, painting, and 3-D work in Moorer Gallery responded enthusiastically to the cast and crew at each of the four performances.

i.e.

What is i.e. is an acronym for infused education. UMS-Wright has always believed the most valuable asset in the classroom is the teacher. The textbook does not drive the curriculum, and a device will not drive the curriculum. Both are viewed as tools available to the teachers. For years, teachers have infused technology into education through SMART boards, clicker response systems, computer labs, and web-enhanced activities. Technology is not the only aspect to an infused education. Critical thinking, thoughtful debate, hands-on activities, collaboration, and much more infuse the education at UMS-Wright daily.

“You know that I am a fan of printed books in the English classroom for all kinds of reasons. Nevertheless, I am doing so many new things in all my classes because of Haiku, Powerpoint, Garageband, and easy access to computers. The depth of my assignments and the degree of engagement of my students are so exciting, and I feel so thankful that I have so many new ways to interact with my students and have them interact with each other. Garageband allows me to continue instruction after the students have left the room. I have students read a poem from their text, listen to music associated with that poem, and then engage in a discussion on Haiku among themselves. I have students look at a famous work of art and compare it to poetry and myth in a discussion online. These are all assignments that would have taken much precious class time and only a few students would have had the opportunity to respond. Now, we are involved in an interesting way. So while we will still have textbooks and use paper and pen, the technology gives me an opportunity to enrich my instruction in ways I could never have imagined. Debra Guyton, UMS-Wright English Department Chair

Excitement grows everyday as we continue to prepare students for tomorrow.

The UMS-Wright administration made the decision in the summer of 2013 to formally investigate the possibility of a one-to-one device. As technology continues to embed itself into the work and personal environment, it is imperative that the next generation of college students and professionals understand how to use technology efficiently, effectively, and responsibly. Now, every career requires the use of technology in some aspect. The best college students and professionals of tomorrow will be the ones who have the ability to apply traditional knowledge, critical thinking and reasoning skills along with collaborative skills to solve problems. Successful professionals will have mental flexibility as well as the skills to effectively harness the power of technology in any given situation. Over the past two decades, the leadership of UMS-Wright has refined the education experience to continue to produce excellent young adults by balancing proven teaching strategies with new technologies and by the procurement of the best teachers in the Southeast. To ensure students have the best possible educational experience, the students and teachers need to have the appropriate tools to achieve the school’s mission and “educate all students to their highest potential”. As we continue to enhance the infused education at UMS-Wright, each student will have access to a personal device starting in the 2015-2016 school year.

What a Week is Like

Ever wonder what all goes on during the course of a week at UMS-Wright? What’s often not noticed by so or studio, on the stage or playing field, in the courtyard during break, or in the daily routine or out of the o learned, and most importantly bonds are made that carry our students beyond our gates. Yet these bonds experiences. Pause and take a glimpse at one week this past spring to see all that our school has to offer an who have nurtured them along the way.

campus security

Have you ever had a dead battery in the parking lot? Locked your keys inside your car? Had to get in the gate after-hours? Needed help unloading your car? This has happened more times than we are willing to admit. The UMS-Wright Security Team helps all of these circumstances, as well as facilitating carpool and monitoring the entire campus! Every morning, you can always count on a big smile and warm greeting as you pull into the gate. We, the UMS-Wright family, are so lucky to know that our campus and children are protected 24/7 by a devoted security staff. Darrell Bassett (pictured top-left)

ALUMNUS OF THE YEAR

Augustine “Gus” Meaher, III

2015

Augustine “Gus” Meaher, III, a member of the UMS Class

of 1957, has been chosen as Alumnus of the Year. During his years at UMS, he distinguished himself academically as well as being the Editor of the Battalion Review and the Company Commander of Company B. After graduation from UMS, Gus attended Tulane University where he completed a Bachelor of Arts degree before earning a Juris Doctorate from Tulane’s law school. He also served in the United States Army as a Transportation Officer before beginning his career as an attorney. Gus Meaher has practiced law for fifty-two years and is still a very active, dedicated, and effective lawyer. This is obvious since he was chosen to receive the 2014 Ben Killion Award which is presented to the Volunteer Lawyer of the Year. In addition, he has served as the Chairman of the Mobile Bar Association’s Law Library and recently has done significant pro bono work on behalf of the UMS-Wright Foundation, an effort which will benefit the school far into the future. Mr. Meaher has served as a board member of the A.S. Mitchell Foundation for more than a quarter century and has been the President of the Foundation since 2001. During that time, he has consistently supported the requests of UMS-Wright as he has also overseen the disbursement of significant funds by the A.S. Mitchell Foundation to other worthy institutions and causes. He and his wife Mary Lou have six children, each of whom attended UMS, J.T. Wright, and UMS-Wright from 1980 to 2006. UMS-Wright is delighted to announce his selection as Alumnus of the Year.

Alumni Profile Brooke Chassin Aiken ‘96

Brooke Chassin Aiken ‘96 is the Section 508 Coordinator for CBP, ensuring that all CBP’s Electronic Information Technology is accessible to everyone inside and outside of the government.

1) Tell us about your career? I am the Section 508 Coordinator for Customs and Border Protection (CBP). In a nut shell, I ensure that all of CBP’s information technology (software, web, multimedia, hardware) is available to persons with disabilities. A person that is blind can’t see a computer screen, but there is software that will read what is on the screen. A person that may be hard of hearing or deaf can’t hear a speech that you and I think nothing of, I make sure there is closed captioning or a sign language interpreter so all persons have equal access to our IT. My job encompasses employees within our agency and members of the public. Check out the CBP Global Entry Kiosk if you are going overseas and coming back into the country. There is a separate mode for persons with disabilities. I soon will take my experience to the Executive Office of the President and work to build a similar type program for their office, I am looking forward to this challenge. 2) What’s a day like in your job? There is no typical day for what I do due to the vast area that I must service, my program reaches nation wide and to the public. I may work with a member of the public who has a vision impairment and can’t access a CBP website, or I may work with an employee who has just gained a disability and has no idea what to do and how he/she can function successfully in his/her job and his/her personal life. My favorite part of my job is giving training and speeches to different offices across the country, it is nice to see a spark go off when a manager may realize the potential someone with a disability has. Sometimes I have to take my professional hat off and let an employee know that they will be a success and that is why there are programs like mine out there. 3) What is the most rewarding aspect of your job? I leave my job every day knowing that I made a positive impact in someone’s life. This past year, my team and I put on an event that showcased all types of persons with disabilities (hearing impaired, sight impaired, mobility impaired, cognitive and disabilities we can not see) and after the event I had multiple individuals thank me for showing others that persons with disabilities can be successful, and there are no boundaries. It was also eye opening for those at the event to see someone who has a disability that can not be seen, and hear the struggles they go through on a daily basis. 4) How do you feel UMS-Wright prepared you for both your personal and professional life? UMS-Wright gave me confidence to be the best me, I was educationally prepared for college, and I am prepared in my professional life to ensure all of life mishaps should be treated with grace and poise. 5) What is your most memorable UMS-Wright experience? In high school my favorite subject was speech class, I loved and still do love giving speeches. I wanted the Speech Award so badly, I could taste it. I did not win, it was such a sad day in my school year. I was told by the teacher I was second runner up. But, I still lost. It gave me the fighting spirit. I still have to move on and do better. 6) If you could have dinner with any of your former teachers, whom would you choose? Meridy Lyle Jones - I worshiped Miss Lyle, I still do. 7) What was your favorite grade and why? Senior Year. Our class bonded, we made such special memories, and we got to wear WHITE SHIRTS. We were big time!! 8) What is the best advice you have ever received? Always do the right thing - I live by that motto every day. 9) As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? A cast member on Saturday Night Live, I still do. 10) What was your first job? TJ Maxx Sales Associate 11) What is your favorite hobby or activity to do with your family? I live right outside of Washington DC, we have our nation’s capitol in our back yard, sharing how lucky we are to live where we live is so exciting to share with my two boys. 12) What is your advice to the Class of 2016? If I can give advice to rising seniors, it is - don’t judge others, enjoy your life, and be thankful for what you have been given.

“Like most working mothers, my life is a continuous circus held together with scotch tape and glue most days. Sometimes glitter.” I have had the joy of working for BMG, now Sony Music Entertainment for twenty years. I am incredibly grateful to get to spend my days in a career that is more than a pay check and with people who have become my family. Music was always something that held a connection to something bigger for me. My Dad gave me my love and appreciation of music… mostly for singers who can’t sing. Oh, how I love Tom Waits and J.J. Cale! Driving across the bayway in high school to and from UMS-Wright daily, music was what got me in the head space for focus or the escape when needed. Currently, I oversee digital and physical sales and marketing for RED, a division of Sony Music Entertainment, as the Vice President. I have the privilege of getting to live in New Orleans, while my office is based in New York. Therefore, I spend a good bit of time on the road, but no more than three nights at a time or my kids come with me! My days usually begin at 5am as I terrorize my team with emails regarding global digital strategy I thought about at 3am while sleepless. I begin in the office around 8am with a meeting to meeting schedule during office hours; ranging from an intense two hour music meeting with our key team members reviewing the set up of priority records in great detail, to artist/ manager/ label meetings listening to new music or explaining new developments on Spotify, acting as the office therapist, to negotiating with accounts and labels over terms. The days in NY end with a work dinner sometimes two, and going to see one of our bands. Glamorous at times, but yes I have stepped out of dinner at the SoHo House with Mumford & Sons to FaceTime with my kids at bed time. The most rewarding part of my job is the gift of being able to champion an artist from a soundcloud link into someone who has a global presence to make a positive impact. Over my career I have had the pleasure of getting to work with many incredibly talented artists ranging from Whitney Houston, Dave Matthews Band, Britney Spears, The Backstreet Boys, ‘NSYNC, and Bruce Springsteen to Jason Aldean, Mumford & Sons, Alabama Shakes, and My Morning Jacket. The last few months I have been obsessing over the new Jason Isbell record coming in July and the Sturgill Simpson record we put out last May to Kygo and The Districts. To answer a few questions at once... people often ask how can I be so confident as a female in a typically male dominated industry? I always say if I could survive fifth grade at an all girls school (J.T. Wright), I can do anything! Please, I was awkward and insecure, and clearly not a “popular” girl in the fifth grade. I worried if I would sit with someone at lunch, and would I be included in the sleepover? Girls can be harsh at that age, but it was an incredible gift. I learned I am who I am. By my senior year, I was the girl who wore Birkenstocks and listened to the Grateful Dead. I was different, but I was comfortable being me. UMS-Wright taught me to let go of ego, accept others for who they are, and be kind. I have wonderful memories of UMS-Wright, not all are haunted by the fifth grade. The most incredible of them being the friendships I made in Kindergarten that I carry with me today. I may not talk to those friends every day or even every year. Our lives may be different in some aspects. But, when we get together for a girls weekend some are married, divorced, some single, kids or no kids, job or no job… break it down and all of us are trying to make it through the day being the best wife, mother, friend, employee, or boss we can while being authentic to who we are. So the advice I would give myself in high school... be brave. Be who you are, don’t conform to something or someone you are not comfortable with, and don’t be scared to eat lunch alone. One day you will savor the 30 minutes of solitude.
