Dr. Frank Abel Anderson Ph.D. Ch.E. Frank Abel Anderson was born June 22, 1914 in Bridgeport, CT. He was one of three children of Frank Fabian Anderson (October 4, 1878-October 7, 1971) and Anna Elizabeth Olsson Anderson (June 14, 1889-Nov 16, 1969). Dr. Anderson graduated from Junior College of Connecticut AA’34, University of Southern California BS’36, University of Maine MS’40 and Louisiana State University PhD’47 in Chemical Engineering. He was a Professor at Ole Miss from 1941 until his retirement in 1979. Anderson Hall was dedicated in 1971. Dr. Anderson was inducted into the Alumni Hall of Fame in 1989. Dr. Anderson married Mary Courtney June 11, 1942 in the Courtney family home, 410 South 11th Street, Oxford, MS. Mary and Frank lived in that home from 1955 until 2006 when they moved to Azalea Gardens. Dr. Anderson has been a member of Oxford-University Methodist Church since 1941. Mary was active in church music for 65 years, including piano, organ and choir. Dr. Anderson celebrated his 98th birthday June 22nd, 2012.
