Assistant Coach ABBY IRVINE

Abby Irvine, who served last season as a graduate assistant coach at Liberty University, joined the University of North Alabama staff as an assistant volleyball coach in January of 2022. UNA Head Volleyball Coach Tristan Johnson said the former University of Houston setter will be a great addition to the Lions' staff. In her former role as graduate assistant, Irvine assisted with all aspects of running the Liberty program. Irvine finished up her four-year career at Houston in the 2020-21 season, helping the Cougars win the American Athletic Conference (AAC) West Division title as a senior. Her career stats include 2,364 assists, 161 kills, 924 digs and 74 service aces in 396 career sets played. She was a four-year member of the AAC All-Academic Team. During her junior campaign, Irvine dished out a career-high 911 assists, finishing fifth in the AAC with 8.36 assists per set. Irvine posted three 50-assist matches, including a career-high 55 assists against ECU on Oct. 18, 2019. She helped lead Houston to its first postseason since 2000, as the Cougars competed in the 2019 NIVC. Irvine has extensive coaching experience at the developmental level in the Houston area. A native of Willis, Texas, Irvine graduated from Houston in Dec. 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in health and a minor in psychology. She was pursuing a master’s degree in biblical studies at Liberty.

Assistant Coach CAITLIN BULLOCK

Caitlin Bullock enters her first season as assistant volleyball coach at North Alabama. After serving one season as assistant coach at Appalachian State, Bullock joined the UNA staff in February of 2022. She has also served as head coach of both the men's and women's volleyball programs at Lees-McRae College. In her first season as women's volleyball head coach at LeesMcRae, Bullock led the Bobcats to an improvement in nearly every statistical category and also a berth in the 2018 Carolinas Conference tournament. The following year, the team improved its win total by five and finished with an 8-1 home record. In 2020, she guided LeesMcRae to an 8-6 overall record and 5-4 mark in conference play during a COVID-19 shortened season. Bullock also took over as head coach of the men's volleyball program at Lees-McRae during the 2020 season. She served as interim for the second half of the season, before seeing the interim tag removed in April of 2020. Prior to Lees-McRae, Bullock was an assistant coach at King University in Bristol, Tenn., for both the men's and women's program for three seasons. She helped lead the Tornado to a berth in the 2018 NCAA Division II Men's Volleyball Tournament. Bullock was a three-time allconference honoree at Erskine College. During her time with the Flying Fleet, she became the program's all-time leader with 1,174 kills. She was also the first player in program history to earn AVCA honors, receiving an honorable mention in 2014 after leading Erskine to its firstever conference tournament championship and appearance in the NCAA Division II Tournament. Bullock was tabbed as Carolinas Conference Player of the Week six times and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in sports management and a minor in health science and business administration.
