Presentation of a new study on the rights of migrant workers in Europe
What? Ahead of the forthcoming European Council, which will have migration as one of the main topics, the Regional Office for Europe of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) together with the International Labour Office (ILO) and International Organization for Migration (IOM) and MEPs including Alejandro Cercas, Claude Moraes and Jean Lambert will launch a study on the rights of migrant workers in Europe. This study intends to identify and analyze the challenges and opportunities for ratification by European Union countries of the International Convention on the Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Members of Their Families (ICRMW). The study, which deals only with the rights of third-country nationals, covers developments at the European Union level, in EU Member States and other countries in Europe such as Norway.

Who? –Mr. Alejandro Cercas, Mr. Claude Moraes and Jean Lambert will join the representatives of the Office for the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), the International Labour Office (ILO) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) to present the main findings of the study and stress the main relevant topics in connection with the ongoing EU efforts on migration policy making.
