Fostering industrial development in Africa in the new global environment" will be the focus of the Economic Development in Africa Report 2011. The report will seek to provide an overview of the stages, performance and lessons learned from the previous attempts at promoting industrial development in Africa. It will present a strategic framework for industrial development and make suggestions for a new industrial policy, indicating how this may be calibrated to the new global environment.
This year´s report is the product of joint work, and is jointly published by UNCTAD and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO). It builds on the 2009 Economic Development in Africa Report on Strengthening Regional Economic Integration for Africa’s Development and the 2010 Report on SouthSouth Cooperation: Africa and the New Forms of Development Partnerships
