While pursuing her doctorate degree, Ozalle worked part-time as a graduate assistant on the National Secondary Transition Technical Assistance Center (NSTTAC) grant at UNC Charlotte. She studied under many wonderful professors in the Special Education and Child and Family Development Departments, specializing in culturally responsive instruction and behavior management of at-risk students. She has accepted a tenure-track faculty position with the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, where she will be preparing future special educators.

Currently a graduate assistant at UNCC, she teaches undergraduate courses in reading and writing pedagogy and has published articles about literacy teaching and literacy coaching in journals such as The Reading Teacher and The Middle School Journal. She is receiving her doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction in Urban Literacy at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte under the direction of Dr. Brian T. Kissel and Dr. Karen D. Wood. Dr. Stover will be an Assistant Professor of Literacy Instruction at Furman University in Greenville, SC in the fall of 2012.

Clifford C. Afam, immigrated to the U.S. 20 years ago from Nigeria. He earned a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing at UNC Charlotte, a Master of Science in Nursing Education UNC Greensboro and his Ph.D. UNC Charlotte. Clifford is married to Doris Afam with two children Valerie and Emmitt. Special thanks to Dr. Charles Hutchison, dissertation chair for his guidance.

Wenwen Dou earned her Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of North Caroline at Charlotte. Her research interests include visual analytics and human computer interaction. In particular, she is interested in the area of visual text analysis. After graduation, she will continue her research on using interactive visual means to summarize and analyze vast amounts of unstructured textual information.

Wenyi Shao joined the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at UNC Charlotte in the fall 2008. His research is in electromagnetism and microwave imaging. The two most important people during his pursuing a Ph.D. were his wife and his advisor. His wife is also a Ph.D. student in the same department at UNC Charlotte, and she will be graduating next fall. Wenyi is going to continue his research career after graduation.
