Preparing all students to enter, succeed in, and graduate from college.
Roxbury Prep has a unique opportunity to build a world-class school in the heart of Roxbury. Currently, our high school operates out of two locations, six miles apart. This separation causes inefficiencies and ineffectiveness for school operations. Additionally, the building will expand our ability to deliver the joyful, loving, and rigorous instruction critical to building students’ social, emotional, and academic development. Uniting our schools into one space will provide an authentic, high-quality middle and high school experience in one of Boston’s most under-resourced communities.
Scheduled to open School Year 2024-2025, this new facility will also help to revitalize the Newmarket neighborhood and drive economic growth. There is strong evidence that proves when a new school opens student performance increases, teacher retention improves, the surrounding community becomes safer and thrives economically. This learning facility will provide access to high-quality education and become a stabilizing anchor in the Newmarket neighborhood.
Boston is changing. Families are leaving the city in search of better opportunities for their children. To keep our city vibrant and ensure a future we can be proud of, our children must have access to a high-quality education, excellent instructional staff, and world-class facilities.
In School Year 2024-2025
Roxbury Prep will open a stateof-the-art school building to serve grades 6-12. This new educational facility is the pivotal first step for our future vision to provide a full Pre-K through 12th grade pathway so that we can be the provider of primary and secondary education to Boston’s students and families.
Roxbury Prep High School will educate the region’s future parents, leaders, and workforce. It will deliver an experience similar to what students in more affluent suburban districts have access to. Roxbury Prep offers a strong college prep curriculum and a safe, interactive learning experience. 96% of the Class of 2022 were accepted into college and 7 in 10 alumni are persisting in colleges including Amherst, Boston College, Georgetown, Howard, UMass, and Wesleyan.
On average, college graduates earn $1.2M* more than their peers without a post-secondary degree. Increased earnings will lead to a lifetime of economic independence, keep families in Boston, and preserve our neighborhoods’ unique cultural vitality.
Roxbury Prep’s new school facility will help to close the opportunity gap that has held Black and brown students back and reverse learning losses brought on by remote learning. Roxbury Prep was one of Massachusetts’ first public charter schools and has a storied history rooted in innovation. As we advance beyond the pandemic, we remain dedicated to providing high-quality equitable education. We will equip our students with the critical thinking skills and mindsets to solve 21st century challenges. It’s time for today’s leaders and change-makers to “pass the torch” and invest in tomorrow’s employment pipeline.

Public charter schools do not receive public funding for buildings and renovations. Bond financing and years of meticulous financial stewardship will support nearly 90% of the project. Private investment is required to close the gap and provide a permanent school community that our students deserve.
This critical revitalization effort will require significant support from Boston’s philanthropic community. Our young people cannot afford to
miss this opportunity. For Boston to remain a world-class city, we must invest in an educated, diverse, and competitive workforce. The need is real and urgent. Your financial commitment will yield tangible results and inspire Boston’s up and coming leaders.
