UNCW Media Policies and Information

• Credentials All requests for media credentials must be made as early as possible by contacting UNCW’s Athletic Comunications office. Credentials are issued to accredited members of the working media only, and all requests will be evaluated and prioritized. Credentials can be mailed if time allows. Otherwise, they may be picked up at the ticket gate of Trask Coliseum. • Photo Guidelines The NCAA has established a policy to control congestion in the photography areas during basketball games. Only photographers on assignment are given photo passes, and they must shoot along the left-hand side of the baslines, keeping their media passes visible at all times.

• Post-Game Media Availability Both coaches and selected players are available upon request following the game. Interviews will take place in the media room of Trask Coliseum. Requests for opponent team members should be directed to their respective SID or a member of the UNCW Athletic Communications staff. Those interviews will take place in the media room of Trask Coliseum. The NCAA mandated 15-minute “cooling off” period will be enforced.

• General Interviews Day-to-day interviews with the coaching staff and players are encouraged. Please contact women’s basketball SID Jarrett Abelson at (910) 962-3252 to arrange coach/player interviews. Requests for interviews must be cleared at least 24 hours in advance.

• Practice Interviews Nearly all UNCW practices are open to the media. Interviews may be conducted before or after practice. The recommended time slot for interviews is before practice. Please call Jarrett Abelson for practice times. To confirm interviews, contact Abelson prior to arrival. • Telephone Interviews In the event you are unable to talk in person to an athlete or coach, we will attempt to arrange a telephone interview at a time convenient to both parties. Please allow ample time to set up a mutually agreeable date and location for those involved. • Game Day Interviews No interviews will be given prior to the game, with the exception of pre-game radio shows.

UNCW Women’s gOLF 2012 CAA Champions

UNCW defended its 2011 title and captured the program’s fourth conference tournament crown in six seasons as it posted a three-stroke victory at the 2012 CAA Women’s Golf Championship on the Reserve Course of the St. James Plantation in April 2012. The Seahawks held off a late charge from runner-up James Madison to earn the repeat as it finished the 54-hole event with a three-round total of 909 (300-305-304), the third lowest team score in tournament history. Senior Sofia Hagsund and sophomore Lori Beth Adams both earned All-Tournament Team honors, with Hagsund finishing second (72-75-74=221) and Adams claiming third (74-76-72=222). Sophomore Laverry Kumar (76-77-76=229) earned a share of ninth place to give the Seahawks three top -10 results.

UNCW Women’s gOLF 2011 CAA Champions The UNCW women’s golf program captured its third Colonial Athletic Association in five seasons with a five-shot victory over two-time defending champion Georgia State in the 2011 CAA Women’s Golf Championships on the No. 6 Course of the Pinehurst Resort in late April. The Seahawks rallied for a tournament-low 299 in the final round, erasing a three-stroke deficit and finishing with a tournament result of 917 (312-306-299). Freshman Jeanne Metivier fashioned a sensational debut in the Seahawks lineup as the international import from Arcachon, France, finished in a tie for fifth to earn All-Tournament honors. Junior Sofia Hagsund and freshman Laverry Kumar finished one shot back of Metivier to give UNCW three top-10 finishes in the championship. http://mashable.com/2013/06/13/twitter-analytics-free/
