Summary of Activity RA Covers Risk Assessment to ensure suitable arrangements are in place to mitigate against Covid-19 risks for all Bangor University students and staff using Students’ Union vehicles (Minibuses / MPVs) on official Bangor University related business / activities. It also covers students using their own vehicles for official club activities and lease / hire vehicles. Capacities will be set to 50% including the driver. NOTE: Minibus travel is classed as an AMBER activity as each vehicle is classed as one Contact Group and passengers may have to self-isolate if not fully vaccinated and subsequently advised another traveler has tested C-19 positive.

Existing Controls a. Staff classed as Clinically Extremely Vulnerable and / or Clinically Vulnerable should make themselves known to their Line Manager so the ‘At Risk Staff’ Risk Assessment can be undertaken as required before travel. b. Students with increased health risks should make themselves known to their Supervisor so appropriate arrangements can be put in place to safeguard them whilst enabling them to participate to achieve their academic targets. c. These same principles will apply for staff or students living with a person, or persons who are at higher risk from COVID-19, and a full risk assessment carried out. d. Staff or students that develop symptoms must stay at home and undertake testing. e. Staff or students developing symptoms while on a trip should inform the trip

Persons are not asked to self-isolate if fully vaccinated or under 18. Persons considered to be fully vaccinated, if it has been at least two weeks (14 days) since completion of a full course of an approved vaccine. j. For the first 28 days of the new academic year, all staff and students are advised to self-test at least twice a week, regardless of whether they will be partaking in field trips. b. Electronic register (checkin.bangor.ac.uk) must be used to record all staff and students on vehicles as well as the SU Trip Registration form.

Each vehicle will be classed as one ‘Contact Group’.

A different check-in code must be used for each vehicle. Details will be provided to Test, Trace and Protect if requested.

Medication, Food, and Drink: Infection risk if sharing

Existing Controls This will allow for social distancing to be maintained, and there is no need to keep a seating plan. The Driver will sanitize the vehicle with disinfectant wipes at the start and end of the hire. To include cleaning all internal doors, handles, steering wheels, gear stick, window buttons and general internal fixtures. Windows will be open whilst the vehicles are in use. NO use of air conditioning. Ensure students receive suitable information, including regularly reminded of the requirement not to travel if they have developed any symptoms of Covid-19 or are required to self-isolate. Advise student to bring suitable face covering, which must always be worn onboard vehicles. Instructions from the SU/Driver must always be followed.
