Polly Bridges

VP FOR SOCIETIES AND VOLUNTEERING IS-LYWYDD CYMDEITHASAU A

Hi! I'm Polly, a 3rd year marine biology undergrad I've been involved with volunteer projects throughout my time at uni, and am project leader for a couple of them. I like to get involved with the many societies we have at Bangor University; I love how there's something for everyone!

If elected I would shine more light on our amazing volunteer projects; they're a great way to meet new friends, gain new experiences, and progress your BEA!

This year I have been acting as the Environmental officer, allowing me to gain experience and insight into how to continue making greener changes around the university! I’m very passionate about 25/25 and have discussed many ideas with current sabbatical officer Sam.

I’d really like to link the many societies we have here with our volunteer projects, not only will this reflect well on you as individuals but also on our university as a whole

Coming from the volunteering side of things (being project leader of the period poverty & dignity and Beach clean projects) has enabled me to see the importance of these projects for the students and the wider community, as well as developing my own skills. I believe there should be more of a spotlight on the array of projects offered, and if elected this would be one of my priorities.

Many of the societies host events that would come under volunteering, which many members may not be aware of I’d really like to focus on interlinking the volunteering projects with all the societies at Bangor, allowing students to develop their BEA awards!

As the VP for Socs & Vol I’d really like to be the bridge between, linking societies with certain volunteer projects.

Volunteering and being a part of societies is a great way to get out of the house without having to pay for anything! I’d shed more light on some of the amazing opportunities with the volunteering projects; a free beach trip with the beach clean project, cute animal therapy with the Donkey Project and Guide dogs Project, raising money for charity and getting to sky dive with RAG!

VOTE VP FOR EDUCATION NIDA AMBREEN

As a candidate for the Sabbatical Officer as Vice President of Education at Undeb Bangor University, I understand the goals of this student-led organization where education is of the utmost importance. I aim to make sure that Bangor University students' educational needs are satisfied and that they have the finest learning experience possible during their degree in order to represent Bangor University internationally.

My priority will be to address matters of national and local education policy, funding, and quality. I understand that the education system can often be confusing and overwhelming, and I am committed to making it easier for students to navigate the whole process by encouraging better relationships and engagement between students and faculty members

I am committed to ensuring that all students have access to high-quality teaching, resources, and support services. I will also work to ensure that students can engage in meaningful and relevant learning experiences, both inside and outside of the classroom. Therefore, another important aspect of my manifesto is to increase funding for education and make ways for increasing graduate employability so that students have wide available opportunities out there.

I am keen to increase student engagement and representation in education policy matters. To ensure student empowerment, I will work closely with course representatives, student societies, and other relevant stakeholders, to ensure student empowerment. I will keep an open-door policy so that the student’s voice is heard and considered in decision-making processes.

Last but not the least, I believe in creating a safe and inclusive environment for all students, regardless of their background, beliefs, or identity I will work to promote and support diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of education at Bangor University.

Overall, my manifesto focuses on ensuring that students receive a quality education and that their concerns are heard and addressed.
