Opportunities Student Staff:

Athletic Union Assistant

8 - 10 hours per week.

Support daily running of the AU.

Assist with delivering AU Events

Provide support to the elected officer.

Engage with the wider AU clubs where required.

Help with Wider SU Events i.e. serendipity.

To assist with sourcing content and material from activities and projects working closely with the Communications and Marketing team for promotion

Will be expected to work on weekends when University Open days are held

Societies, Volunteering & Events Assistant

8 - 10 hours per week.

Support organising and delivering Societies and volunteering events and campaigns

Day-to-day support for volunteering projects.(And societies on occasion). Assist with delivering the cultural fair event.

Support with the promotion of volunteering and recruitment.

General societies and volunteering communications

Help with Wider SU Events i e serendipity

To assist with sourcing content and material from activities and projects working closely with the Communications and Marketing team for promotion.

Will be expected to work on weekends when University Open days are held

Student Voice Assistant:

To support the promotion, delivery, engagement and administration of Student Voice activity within the Union.

Minimum 8 hours per week from

(23rd September – 20th December, 23th January – 11th April, 12th May – 23rd May)

There may be additional hours and dates available to be agreed with the Student Voice Leads depending on campaigns and events being delivered.

Main duties and responsibilities

Assist in the delivery, development and promotion of events within Student Voice in the Students’ UnionCourse Rep Scheme; Elections; Networks, Ideas and campaigns and events

Engaging directly with students to deliver campaigns, events and support with our research work.

To assist with sourcing content and material that is relevant to the Student Voice work, working closely with the Communications and Marketing team for promotion.

Assist with organisation and management of the Student Voice storeroom.

Supporting the Student Voice Team with general administrative tasks

Support the Student Voice Team in student meetings as necessary

Support the work of the President and VP Education and other Sabbatical officers when necessary

Supporting the Student Voice Team with any other tasks

Student Centre Assistant:

To provide administrative and translation support to the Student Centre, Communications and Marketing, UMCB President, Student Voice Team and the wider SU staff. Being the first point of contact for students.

Person Specification

The ability to speak and write Welsh fluently in various situations is essential for this post.

An ability to provide excellent customer service in a busy environment, remaining calm, polite and friendly Experience working in a customerfocused environment or administrative role.

This will be contracted between 16-20 hours per week.

Main duties and responsibilities

Being a point of contact at the reception.

Translation work (English to Welsh and Welsh to English).

Dealing with a wide range of customer enquiries.

Answering student and visitor queries in person or by email.

Assist with room bookings.

Provide administrative support to the Operations and Communications teams.

To support with promotion, engagement and administration of our UMCB work and activities.

Schedule social media posts and update pages on the SU website.

Supporting the Student Voice Team with general administrative tasks, including:

Research work

Writing up manifestos, rep profiles etc.

Collating information

Course rep sign-up/ profiles copy and paste. Maintaining course rep database.

Will be expected to work on weekends when University Open days are held.

Videographer and Marketing Assistant:

To film and edit videos and assist the Communication and Marketing Team with any additional responsibilities.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Film and edit weekly ‘ news ’ style videos.

Follow the latest trends, film these with Sabbs, Clubs, and Societies, and upload them to our TikTok, ensuring they get the maximum reach possible

Organise time for people to film and be comfortable going out and filming alone

Assist with campaigns and events and promote these throughout our digital channels This can be everything from Serendipity to Varsity

Be on hand to assist with the open days

Person Specification

Essential

Experience and understanding in video/film

Ability to edit videos to a high standard Understanding of social media platforms, including TikTok and Instagram Reels

Provide excellent customer service and act professionally and politely within a busy office environment

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Able to work weekends for open days

Able to meet deadlines

Desirable

Ability to think creatively and use own initiative

Welsh speaker

Customer service experience

The ideal start date for this role will be the 16th of September (one week before Welcome Week). This will be contracted to 10 hours a week.
