2010 - This report shows that Turkey eradicated extreme poverty and hunger, has one of the lowest maternal mortality rates among the upper-middle income group of countries, and nearly achieved gender parity in primary education. Despite its achievements, the country faces challenges in promoting gender equality and empowerment of women.
