Jesús T. Piñero Collection At the present, the Piñero Collection is in the Circulation area. The documents in this Collection are a reflection of the activities of Piñero as Governor, Resident Commissioner, businessman, husband and father as well as member of the Caribbean Commission. The Collection holds hundreds of photographs,, documents, audio and video recordings of interviews with family members and contemporaries of Piñero.

The Vice Chancellorship of Information Resources has created the first application to access your library. With it you can access the online catalog, data bases, e-books, periodicals, on-line magazines, special collections, our accounts in Facebook and Twitter and much more. Available 24/7. The APP can be downloaded from you mobile unit or Apple Tablet or Android.

Hours: Data Bases These provide access to a wide variety of information in electronic formats such as magazines, periodicals, etc. They are an important research tool for professors as well as students. Some data bases require authentication with username and password.

The library is part of the Vice Chancellorship of Information Resources. It is responsible for the acquisition, organization, development, updating and preservation of bibliographical resources in their various formats for the Carolina campus and regional centers. Circulation Includes the largest number of specialized and general resources. These can be loaned for a period of 15 days. Periodicals The library includes a wide selection of important publications that contribute to the academic programs that offered at the institution as well as others of general interest. These are used in the library facilities. Reference In this area you will find resources related to basic as well as specialized topics. These resources include: encyclopedias, annuals, atlases, maps, indexes, and directories among others. All of these resources are for use in the library. Reserve This area provides access to textbooks and other materials for courses that are offered. These resources are loaned for a two-hour period.

Fines In the circulation area, all loaned material that is returned late has a fine of 25 cents per day per book. For the Reserve area the fine is $1.00 per hour per item. Photocopiers and printers. We have photocopiers available. Copies are ten cents per page. The student uses the Paper Cut System. To recharge, the student uses the Pay Station terminal entering the username and password. One, five, ten, and twenty dollar bills may be used. Group Study Areas Two rooms with multimedia equipment are available for group study. These rooms are located in the Reference Room. They should be reserved beforehand and are loaned for two hours. Program for Information and Research Skills This program is designed to develop research skills. Orientation is offered regarding on-line catalogs, data bases, and internet through workshops and orientations.

Technological Assistance Laboratory To facilitate access and the use of research technology to members of the community who have impairments we have available equipment for technological assistance that can be used in the library. These are found in the Circulation area. Community Technological Center The Community Technological Center is a project of the UNE and AmeriCorps whose goal is to contribute to narrowing the gap between people and technology. This center offers computer workshops to both the university and outside communities. http://uneit.suagm.edu/CTC/ Numismatic Collection The Numismatic Collection contains bibliographic resources related to the history of coins in Puerto Rico and the world. Ana G. Méndez Collection

This area includes a multifunctional unit in which the librarian and the student engage in one on one learning. The orientations are person to person or with small groups and help to develop research skills.

This collection contains brochures, catalogs and other documents related to the early years of the Ana G. Méndez University System. These materials are for use in the library.

Vertical Files These files contain clippings, brochures and ephemeral material. These resources may be used in the library. eReaders The library has seven Sony eReaders and five Nook Colors for reading e-books. They are loaned for a period of fifteen days. They can be found in the Circulation Area.
