CO-WORKING
The students explored the possibilites that coworking can open up when considered as a device to create, connect, form communities, collaborate, network, promote urban life and function as a trust-worthy support system for the users. The divide between life and work keeps getting blurred, how architecture responds and adapts to this condition and the ever developing needs of a society constantly on the go, virtually connected 24/7, is what has been explored and the results of this exploration have been compiled in this publication.
EAU UNIBE
Though the emphasis of the studio was placed on its interior qualities, considering all aspects of the building and its urban context were also carefully incorporated into the whole.
DESIGN STUDIO VI
Each student developed an architectural proposal in which the act of sharing space with others was intersected with the contemporary understanding of work and its role in our society today.
This co-working building focuses on creating new environments and new spaces that make millennials more comfortable and effective in their work.

CO - CREATING
Natural Touch Creating a space that incorporates natural touch is just as important as staying relevant to the implementation of advanced technology. Individuals with reduced stress improved productivity and improved air quality. One of the ways this touch can be executed is through integrating natural elements in a workspace such as plants, natural light, or using bare wood. Create a biophilic design that induce people to feel comfortable.
EAU UNIBE
Tech-savvy Workspace The study projects technology in the workspace will be more advanced due to the possibility of robotics replacing menial routines. The ability for such advancement will leave workers with more time and capacity to work on tasks that demand more importance.
DESIGN STUDIO VI
I focussed on four essentials points that the building should accomplish through the design process to complete the goal of creating a new evolution of coworking space.
2019 DESIGN STUDIO VI
Mindful Design It is essential for the design of a space to be conscious of this factor. The principles that define mindful designs are curiosity, creativity, compassion, craftsmanship, collaboration, communication, and critical intelligence. This includes Sit-stand desks, Flexible layouts, such as movable tables and dividers and cozy spaces such as sofas and puff furniture.
EAU UNIBE
Fluid Environment Creating a flexible working environment is key to great workspace design. A fluid environment in a workspace will be able to promote learning, growth, and community.
DESIGN STUDIO VI EAU UNIBE
When the concept of coworking comes to my mind I thought of these new spaces with a different design and the merge of the four concepts.

CO-MMUNITY The concept of community integrates the architectural elements of this project. Building a community in a coworking facility requires dedicated efforts to nurture and develop the feeling of belonging and ownership.
By observing spaces from a collective perspective, spaces become a combination of social and work spaces. Also, by transforming the usual way of looking at the workplace and seeing it integrated into social and cultural activities that contribute to the environment in which the project is located. Coworking is about Community.
CONCEPTUAL PROCESS
The concept of community is defined by the integration of activities that relate to a specific group of people. In relation to the interaction of coworking spaces are translated in a collective way, being the same common services that offer dynamism and interaction among its users.
CO-MMUNITY
CONCEPTUAL PROCESS
In this mental map based on coworking, four concepts were developed which are considered the most important in relation to architecture. These concepts are: collectivity, diversity of spaces, spatial adaptation and interior architecture.
TURNED INTO SPOTS SKETCHES The concept of community is translated into the shape of the circle, this form being able to create an interior space that integrates the activities of the Project with some privacy from the outside.
DESIGN PROCESS
The objective of this project is to serve as an integrating entity between the social and cultural activities that take place around the interior.
TURNED INTO SPOTS SKETCHES
DESIGN PROCESS
The diagonal lines that cross the ring arise after determining the various points that gather the highest density of people around the project.
TURNED INTO SPOTS EVOLUTION 1 The circular shape is defragmented into several pieces, giving rise to various spots which would become project spaces.
DESIGN PROCESS
The great defragmentation prevented to have the public space concentrated in a specific area, so also the large volumes would have as a consequence a great clash between the human scale and the structure due to its proximity.
TURNED INTO SPOTS FINAL EVOLUTION The design takes a turn of minimalism in the aspect of volumetry, the defragmentation of the circle and is reduced in only two structures. Being the main axis from which all the guidelines of the project part the circle of the center.
DESIGN PROCESS
The diagonals that delimit the main accesses of the project are maintained, as well as the various public squares. The center of the project consists of a large square with a private character, specific for the users of the Center.
TURNED INTO SPOTS LANDSCAPING SKETCHES
Being the protagonist user, the objective is to provide large spaces of public square. Respecting the diagonals that arise after the position of the interior of the form, these lines are translated to the exterior marking the boundaries of the areas.
LANDSCAPE PROCESS
In addition to the green areas which provide life and color, three different pavements are determined to delimit the areas. The first crosses diagonally the project, serves to delimit the access. Then we have the pavement used in the squares and the last, it is a path that surrounds the curved outer side of a building in order to serve as a private recreational space.

CONCEPTUAL PROCESS
CO-LLABORATING
CONCEPTUAL PROCESS IIn order to begin to shape the project, the commercial premises that surround the site were taken into account in order to provide them with a space that responds to them without obstructing the urban environment. An important part of the project is the public space that must be generated in the project, taking into account the regulations and sidewalks / public spaces adjoining the site. Another essential aspect is the climate of the area, taking into account the direction of the diurnal and nocturnal winds and the position of the sun, this contributes to the design in morphology, landscaping, faรงade, among other things. Something else taken into account to obtain the morphology of the project was to give an entrance to the urban space, inviting users to be part of the multifunctional space created. As for the plant, it goes according to the morphology of the project and the functions that are to be fulfilled. The first level works as a commercial space and as a public space. From the second level you can see the coworking areas, between these meeting rooms, comfortable spaces to work and spaces with more privacy.

DESIGN STUDIO VI
This project focuses on the dynamism represented by leaving the conventional form of office work, creating this concept in which a space can be minimalist, leading you to have a sense of calm and serenity, at the same time it has open and versatile spaces traversed by interactive pieces to the public.
DESIGN PROCESS For the design process, we first analyzed the buildings that surround the land and the dynamics, importance and timetable they have, in order to have a reference of where to locate the areas to be needed in the project, how the public space was to be shared, and how not to interrupt with the existing dynamics, but this building serves as a complement to this area. After identifying this, sketches of the volume resulting from the boundaries and analysis of the spaces next to the project are performed. When it is defined in the path that the user would have in this place, the volume is formed alone.
DESIGN PROCESS After inserting the concept of lightness into the project, one passes to the brainstorming of how to break with that simplicity by providing dynamism to the project, and one arrives at the solution of a piece inspired by the High Tech, that crosses and joins the two buildings serving as a bridge, thus leaving a series of interactive pieces with the user.
SITE PLAN
FIRST FLOOR The first floor of the project is designed to be commercial, thus having a variety of shops and food venues in a block of buildings, while the other is designed to store all the necessary of the spaces that make up the project, having a file, warehouse and room service.
SECOND FLOOR The second floor is cultural, being formed mostly by an exhibition hall, which enjoys high tech interactive pieces. It has an auditorium, Brainstorm area, cafeteria and salon so that people can get together and make their brainstorming more comfortable.Â
THIRD FLOOR The third floor is made up of closed offices, destined for small businesses that want to have their own space, having this Dynamic a price for affordable for them.
FOURTH FLOOR The fourth and last level is completely open, with workstations distributed throughout it so that entrepreneurs get to know each other and conduct their business in a dynamic way, also having an entertainment space with different game tables like billiards and ping pong.

BUILDING
LOBBY
The building functions as a connection tool for users. Open spaces offer freedom as well as inspiration. We have a relationship between the exterior and interior due to the transparencies and natural elements within it. It has public spaces that serve as a welcome for the pedestrian, as well as various areas of all kinds for the user to work where he feels most comfortable.
DESIGN STUDIO VI
The concept of networking is based on the establishment of a professional network of contacts, which allows the user to be known, both personally and professionally. It also helps to get potential investors or collaborators for a job. It is one of the most frequent practices within the business world and among entrepreneurs. One of the key words of coworking is networking, that network that is created by cooperating together for the same purpose.
EAU UNIBE
The proposal for this project implements networking in all senses. It seeks to create spaces that serve people to relate with each other. In addition to being pleasant for the user experience.

NET-WORKING
DESIGN PROCESS NET-WORKING
The first step in the design process was to identify some key words that came to mind when thinking about the concept of coworking. With these words we made a conceptual map and according to how we represent each one, the keyword was chosen. In my case, networking.
DESIGN PROCESS NET-WORKING
The concept of the design arises from the abstraction of parts of a network. This network has some lines which were used to create the form of the building.
DESIGN PROCESS NET-WORKING
After having the place where would developed the project, the first thing was to make a use of land and detect which things the project would have immediate contact with. This is a great practice to understand how the area in which we would design works.
DESIGN PROCESS NET-WORKING
The process of zoning and volumetry was divided into phases, in which we made volumes according to the conceptualization.
First volumetry 1:600
DESIGN PROCESS NET-WORKING
CONCEPTUAL MODEL 1:600 Advanced the process,
the volumetry was presented with a set of full and empty spaces to counteract the sun and the winds that affect the structure and allow access to natural light to the project, as well as interior patios on the upper floors.
DESIGN PROCESS NET-WORKING
CONCEPTUAL MODEL 1:200
We made a 1: 200 scale model to visualize best the  volumetry. This was made with dry ice, which allowed us to make quick changes to the structure.
The networking space arises from the concept of the network that is formed by the lines, each of which presents a connection with a main point. For my design, the stairs are an element of great importance, it represents the connection between spaces. For this reason they stand out from the other elements by being red. The style that I was looking for was minimalist and light. Colors that complement with the red and at the same time transmit peace for the daily routine of the workers.
MOOD BOARDS NET-WORKING
CORRECTIONS NET-WORKING
One of the most important elements when we are designing is to never forget that the project needs to be united with its context in a harmonious way and without causing a negative impact. With the landscaping we create a union for the user and the building.

OUT - WORKING CO-WORKING
The intention of how the building works it's similar to the idea of walking into a park, the communication with the street, the multiple views, the interaction of activities of different nature, the act of running into people, not just co working with them, but also co living, and of course, being outside and not encapsulated in a shut office all the time. As a result we have a building that has all this transparency, although it may seem heavy with the constant use of concrete and the imposing presence of it's volume. The project functions as a complex, composed by four different buildings interconnected between each other. These buildings have spacious terraces that boost the interaction among the edifices themselves, overlapping on top of each other, and the interaction between the user with its surroundings.
DESIGN STUDIO VI
This proposal is based in the concept of out-working, seeing the work place as open spaces, that are not necessarily closed between four walls, but instead, promotes the social interaction and working collaboration in urban space, which in this case, has been brought into the interior of the building, creating and inside out experience, an exterior space into an interior one.
EAU UNIBE
As said before, the line separating life and work gets thinner every day; the meaning, the way and the space in which we are supposed to work it's constantly evolving and changing.

OUT-WORKING
DESIGN PROCESS OUT-WORKING
CONCEPT the design emerges from its context, taking into account the elements surrounding it. The building print results from the defragmentation of a square, which opens up creating an interior urban space, multiple roads lead to it from the access roads to the site of the project. The plant is configured with a set of ins and outs, the setbacks on the plant are placed by drawing lines on the site that take reference from around, making the volume take steps back or forward depending on how close to the street or other buildings it is convinient to be. Â
BUILDING PRINT The result consists in four different buildings with a big centric public space that serves as place of intercommunication, gathering and communion, inside the corporative building, but in the exterior. The edifices adquire different form that later become volume.

ZONING The four buildings work as independent modules, with the public area in the middle and the respective access paths in yellow , each building has their lobby and circulation core. One of the buildings it's destined to administrative offices and a library on the top; a second building has multipurpose rooms and a small auditorium second level; the third one has a first floor meant for commercial stores, second and third floor are destined for co working spaces; last but not least, the fourth building has four levels, all meant for co working spaces.
Volume Four masses that respond to the density of the context, which has a varied land use, from commercial, recreational to residential, likewise the density varies, having lower heights in the south area, and then increasing towards the north. In this way, the four modules of the project vary in height, similar to the density of it's location. Although the volumes are presented as independent modules, they are interconnected with each other.

TRUST-WORKING
Interpreting the meaning of what should be a co working space where the concept of "trust working" is present, one of the most important characteristics of the project to be taken into account: A project that offers a solution to the problem of isolation. In this way it is intended to design spaces where the user feels surrounded by people, respecting their work space, however sharing a common mutual trust and values.
EAU UNIBE
DESIGN STUDIO VI
The concept of "Trust Working" seeks that the project focuses on two aspects: maintain the sense of community and residential scale of the first houses of Naco and at the same time adapt to its environment in the process of growth with great movement of people, high buildings and great nightlife.
2019
CONCEPTUAL PROCESS
2019 DESIGN STUDIO VI EAU UNIBE
The heights of the buildings in the project are very influenced by the context. In the north the residential scale of a first level is maintained due to the house located on the Avenue Tiradentes with street Raul Cabrera being this house one of the emblematic houses of the central polygon that are still conserved. Shops are located in the West being these part of the nightlife where the scale is already increased. To the South is located the National Supermarket, with large volume covering the entire block where the scale become three levels with large roof and sidewalks spacious. To the East you can begin to see the high towers very caracteristic of Naco.Taking into account this analysis of the context, the project heights begin to vary depending on their orientation.
