Updating the Student Data System (SDS) Now you have settled into study with Kent International Pathways you may have changed your phone number, taken out a new UK based mobile phone account or even moved address. It is extremely important that we are able to contact you over the coming year, especially if there be any changes to your timetable or we need to get hold of you in an emergency, so please keep your contact details on SDS up to date at all times (this is especially important for students studying at the University on a Tier 4 visa).
Finding your SDS record Please find this via the Student Guide at www.kent.ac.uk/student. You will need your IT login and password to access your details.
Updating your details 1. In the left hand menu select Details and Study
2. To amend your details select My Details (Name, Faculty, Department, Programme, Addresses etc)
Select My Record (details of your record) to bring up the contact details we currently have on file for you. To add/amend a telephone/mobile number, home email or term time address Scroll half way down the page and enter your new information. Once entered/amended select Send Changes. To change a permanent or emergency contact addresses Please email student records at sturec@kent.ac.uk or via the link under your address details in SDS (include your student ID number in the subject bar).
Subscribe to SDS Text Alerts
Occasionally we need to contact students in an emergency (i.e. last minute room changes or staff sickness) and the most efficient and quickest way to do this is via text message. It does not cost you anything but in order to receive texts from the University you need to subscribe to the facility. In the Details and Study menu select SMS Text Facility (at the bottom). Check the UK mobile number we have for you is the right one (if not amend as per the instructions above) and click Subscribe. You are now set up to receive alert s from us via text message.
