With ten research institutes carrying out ‘worldleading’ and ‘internationally excellent’ research (REF 2014), we have a growing reputation for high-quality research that is changing the world for the better.
Our tutors will help you to develop the critical thinking, analysis and communication skills you need to succeed in your academic journey and beyond. The teaching you will experience at Bedfordshire comes in many forms; expect high impact lectures, tutorials, one-to-one personal tutor meetings and professional workshops. You’ll gain both knowledge and confidence from the free exchange of ideas between your tutors and peers. Award-winning teaching The quality of our teaching is independently assessed and audited, and we’ve received some very impressive results over the years. We proudly achieved a Silver award in the first ever Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF 2017).
We are committed to applicable research that has genuine impact on the world around us – diabetes, organ donation, substance misuse, cyber stalking, child sexual exploitation, high performance computer and language testing and robotics technology amongst many other significant topics. We have received a number of grants and contracts for high-profile research projects, and the researchled culture of our university means that you will have the opportunity to learn from and work alongside our experts who are investigating issues on a local, national and international level.
We were also awarded top marks in our most recent Quality Assurance Agency audit, and some of our academic staff are Fellows of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and have received National Teaching Fellowship Awards for their outstanding contribution to teaching and learning.
