Why Bedfordshire?
High-calibre teaching
In 2017 we received a Silver award from the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) for our personalised learning, strong academic support and exceptional, modern learning environments.
Leading green university
In 2019 the University of Bedfordshire was ranked 8th out of 154 UK universities in the People & Planet University ‘Green League’. We have also just been awarded Platinum certification by EcoCampus for the second year running.
£180
million
We have invested £180 million in our campus in the past five years, including a £40 million investment in our STEM building, which opened in September 2019.
Focus on employability
Many of our courses offer you the opportunity to undertake a year in industry as part of your degree. You can also develop transferable skills through our volunteering opportunities, employability units, industry talks and masterclasses.
We understand that many students are concerned about the cost of going to university. That’s why we offer a range of fantastic scholarships and bursaries to support you throughout your studies.
Our teaching is informed by research, with ten research institutes across the University. Almost half of our research is rated ‘world-leading’ or ‘internationally excellent’ by the Research Excellence Framework (2014).
Globally networked
We have a diverse University population, with over 20,000 students from over 120 countries worldwide. We also have links with over 3,000 organisations across the globe.

Connected locations
You will benefit from excellent transport links to the rest of the UK and Europe, with our Luton campus being just a 30 minute train journey to London.
