ANITA PARRY - COURSE LEADER
Anita is an experienced all-round creative having worked in acting, screenwriting and directing within the industry Starting her career as an actress within film, tv and theatre, Anita appeared in Coronation Street, Screen Two, The Manageress, McCallum, The Bill, The Glass , Grange Hill and also starred in one-woman comedy drama 'What would Helen Mirren Do?' written by Josie Melia, which was voted to be in the top 5 productions at the Edinburgh Festival by the Edinburgh Evening News and later completed three successful tours During her time as an actress she set up theatre company, 'Theatre and Beyond' as a Joint Artistic Director 'TAB' was an Arts Council regularly funded organisation that specialises in working with new and existing writers for the Brighton Festival Anita has an MA in scriptwriting from Sussex University and her first screenplay was optioned with 6 Degrees Media Anita is also an experienced director, having directed for stage and screen and has made several short films including 'Feis' (Starring Jean Boht), 'Badgers at Midnight' (starring Peter Ellis) and the 'Lights of Santa Cruz' (starring Christian Rodska and Barbara Kessleman) Her first two films as a director were of such high quality that she was quickly taken up by talent agency Curtis Brown in London Now working as the Head of the Creative Producing course, Anita is able to draw on her experience and her vast network of creatives for the benefit of this course
Matt Linley - Creative Producer (Theatre)
Matthew Linley is a theatre maker, creative producer and freelance arts manager His passion lies in working with artists and making new projects come to life on stage The projects he works on tend to have something important to say to today's world He takes pride in creating work that blurs traditional boundaries and often blends music, theatre, spoken word and the digital arts. He has extensive experience working with other production partners and venues Until December 2017 he was Artistic Director and Chief Executive of Unity Theatre Liverpool, leaving to pursue freelance projects. His freelance projects include producing the UK Tour of 'Nina – a story about me and Nina Simone','Horny Handed Tons of Soil' (with Phrased & Confused / Unity Theatre / Lizzie Nunnery) and 'Cuckoo' (with Martin Green and LEPUS) among others Prior to joining Unity he was General Manager of Eastern Angles, producing 18 shows for the company which toured into community centres, theatres, supermarket basements, aircraft hangers, railway museums and ancient monuments to name but a few Matt has his creative finger in a lot of pies, as he is also a board member of the Mercury Theatre, an associate of the hub and a co-director of the band Phrased & Confused As an independent producer he has produced 'The Insulting Cabaret' for International Pen and the Royal National Theatre He has also produced five Phrased & Confused festival stages and two national tours With Windswept Productions he produced Murray Lachlan Young’s 'The Incomers' (directed by Paul Jepson) He also produced the first UK tour for leading Croatian artists, BadCo and DB indos
CARLOS MORAL REIS - Set Design Tutor
Carlos is a set and video designer for live performance born in Lisbon, Portugal. Carlos' career in Portugal saw him working as a set designer, scenic painter, theatre technician and video maker at notorious venues and companies including João Barros Scenic Workshop, Teatro Praga, Teatro da Garagem, Artistas Unidos, Filipe La Féria company and the Teatro Nacional de São Carlos among others He has participated in approximately 60 operas including Graham Vick's Wagner Ring Cycle As a freelance, Carlos has been invited to design sets and videos for Lacuna Theatre, Nando Messias, Tropicalia Company and Blodlina Viking Musical, and has been invited to photograph shows in London Since 2013, Carlos has been working as a Set and Video designer for us at East 15 Acting School, having designed more than 70 productions He also lectures Set Design and AutoCAD
