Vietnam War Presentation

- On Saturday April 1st at 1:00 pm, the Monessen Public Library will host Vietnam Veteran Ron Chromulak for an inside look at the Vietnam War. Mr. Chromulak will provide first person narratives of his experiences in the war as well as other information and stories about the Vietnam War. This will be an excellent chance to learn about the historical significance of the Vietnam War as well as the sacrifices made by those who served. The public is invited at no cost. SPAGHETTI DINNER - The Pleasant Hills Lions Club will hold its annual Spaghetti Dinner on Sunday, April 2nd from 1:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Pleasant Hills Borough Building, 410 East Bruceton Road. $12 for adults and $7 for children 12 or under. Spaghetti, Meatballs, Salad, Bread, Beverage and Dessert. TakeOut Available. First Responders Eat for Free. Tickets may be purchased from Lions Club members or at the door. There will be a basket auction as well. 100% of profits go to our 5 initiatives: Vision, Hunger, Diabetes, Environment and Childhood cancer. Attendees at the dinner are asked to consider bringing donations of non- perishable food items, which the club will deliver to the local food bank. JOURNEY TO JERUSALEM - St. John XXIII Parish presentation of a deeply, personal view on the last week of Christ, will be enacted next weekend, Palm Sunday, April 2, 2023. This is an opportunity to appreciate Holy Week in a completely new and personal way. The experience is set up like tours guided by apostles or women disciples who knew Jesus and experienced His earthly ministry and some of Tridium. Reflection rooms will be set up to share the experience of discipleship, Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday as told by the apostles and women disciples. Reservations are required to coordinate your passage through the times and places of Our Lord at St Francis of Assisi Church / Finley Hall.

FLUTE CONCERT - Whitehall Public Library is proud to host a special concert that showcases the grace and beauty of the flute. ‘Absolutely Flute: A Musical Evening with Emissary Quartet’ will take place on Wednesday, April 5 at 7:00 PM. From baroque to beatbox, the flutists of Emissary Quartet will explore the history and context of this woodwind instrument with a selection of pieces spanning different times and cultures. The annual Monongahela Area Chamber of Commerce Community Easter Egg Hunt is scheduled for April 8th, 2023. Sponsored by cfsbank, children from toddler age to 8 years old are welcome to participate in the hunt with accompanying adults. Please meet in Chess Park at 12 noon, rain or shine.

MEETING - The monthly meeting of the South Hills Coin Club will be held Tuesday evening April 11 at 7:30

PM at the Bethel Park municipal building located at 5100 West library Ave. in Bethel Park. All members and the general public are invited. This month’s program will be on the history of Atlantic Canadian provinces through coins. A 50/50 will be offered and children’s prizes to be awarded. THE CLOTHES 4 U MINISTRYBelle Vernon First United Methodist Church, 200 State Street, will be open to the public on April 11 and April 25 from 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon. We are in special need of children's and men's clothing at this time. But all donations of gently used clothing are appreciated. We are strictly donations in and donations out. We do not charge for our clothing.
