A man born-and-rai sed in Calaveras County won the International FrogJump Sunday attheCalaveras CountyFair and Jumping Frog Jubilee in Angels Camp. Riley Kitch ell, the winner of the 2013 &og jump, took the t itle again — this time with a stock frog provided by the fair, dubbed "I Don't Know." His win makes 2015 the fourth consecutive year a Calaveras County resident has won the competition. Before that, only seven county residents had made the list of champions throughout the years since the first ofticial jump in 1928. "It feels great to win it twice," he said. "It's hard enough getting in the finals twice. There are thousands of frogsthat could've out-jumped mine." Kitchell, 29, of Mountain Ranch, and a member of team Foothill Froggers, has competed in the event every year since he was 7. Before that, he jumped &ogs unofficially with his family. He out-jockeyed his parents, Jon and Laura Kitchell, and other family members this year and in 2013. Laura Kitchell won in 2012 and

In wake of a four-year drought and historic executive order by Gov. Jerry Brown to reduce potable water consumption statewide, the city is required by the state to make water cuts this year. The city must aim to meet a 25 percent per-month water reduction compared to 2013 under the Regional Water Quality Control Board rules adopted this month. The council tonight has the choice of

outdoor ornamental landscape watering to two days a week. City Engineer Dave Myers has recommended a two-day-a-week watering schedule, similar to what the Calaveras County Water District adopted last week. That schedule would create allowable watering days on Tuesdays See COUNCIL / Back Page
