The Bromley carriage stone, a nearly forgotten piece of downtown Sonora's history, may soon be placed near its original spot in the parking lot of what is now Yosemite Title Company. The Tuolumne CountyBoard of Supervisors Tuesday will consider an agreement to loan the stone to the owners of Yosemite Title Company to display. The loan will be in efFect until the City of Sonora moves forward with its Vision Sonora plan, which includes mounting the stone as close to its original location as possible. With schools closed for the summer, over 60 Mother Lode band students and their teachers have kept music education alive, and tonight will show ofF their work with a concert. It will be the culmination of the week-long Gold Country Music Camp held at Columbia ElementarySchool.Thecamp, organized by Sonora High School music teacher Yvonne Denton, is a way for younger students to get in some extra practice time with the help of older musicians and local

Curtis Creek Elementary student Kiefer Newman,10, plays tuba in the camp concert band. Newman has played tuba for six months, and said he wanted to go to camp to get better. De Ferrari Archive while an agreement has been in the works. MCClure falls below 'minimum' By GUY McCARTHY The Union Democrat
