Holidays: The Union Democrat will publish on all holidays that fall between Tuesday through Saturday, some early deadlines may apply. Call 209-588-4555 for more information.

5. ROP Depth Requirements Standard page advertisements exceeding 19 inches in depth will be charged at column depth of 21.25 inches. The minimum size display advertisements are one column by two inches. All advertisements are required to be at least as many inches deep as columns wide unless larger than 40 inches.

7. Terms of Payment All rates listed on this rate card are net and billed as such.

All commercial classified advertising billing is due and payable on or before the last business day of the month. A service charge of 1.5% per month (annual rate 18%) will be assessed on past-due balances. Cash in advance required on new accounts prior to credit approval, going-out-of-business advertising and political advertising and selected classified categories.

Credit: All classified ads accepted by phone are subject to credit approval before publication. MasterCard, Visa and Discover are accepted: Payment for classified ads is due upon completion of the order. However, some classifications must be paid for in advance.

8. General Display Rate Policy The Union Democrat reserves the right to revise all rates, conditions, terms and policies within this rate card at any time without notice.

Advertising space will not be sold by The Union Democrat for the purpose of resale.

The Union Democrat reserves the right to edit, reject, revise, correct, classify or cancel any advertisement at any time. The subject matter, form, size, wording and typography of all advertising are subject to the approval of the publisher. Receipt of copy and/or payment does not determine acceptance for publication.

The advertiser assumes all liability for the content of all advertising and agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the publisher from all claims, suits and related costs arising by reason of any advertising.

The Union Democrat reserves the right to include the word “advertisement� in an advertisement that, in the judgment of the publisher, might be mistaken as editorial material.

In the event of an error, The Union Democrat will rectify an error (not the fault of the advertiser) by re-publication of the advertisement or portion of the advertisement in error. The liability of The Union Democrat in regard to any advertisement is limited to the consideration paid for such advertising.

Private Party Advertisers: The Union Democrat will be responsible for only two incorrect insertions. Please read your ad the first day it appears and notify us immediately of any errors.

All advertising must be run within the appropriate classification determined by the service of item being advertised.

Cancellations of display ads will not be accepted after 2:00 p.m., two working days prior to publication and may be subject to a charge of $25 per hour for composition.

10. Newspaper Readership The Union Democrat and the Foothill Shopper provide coverage in Tuolumne County and Calaveras County. The Union Democrat reaches over 25,000 readers Tuesday through Saturday and combined with the Foothill Shopper on Wednesdays is delivered to more than 45,000 readers.

11. Subscriptions Print edition $7 per month delivered, $7.50 per month for the combination of delivered print edition and E-edition, $7 per month for E-edition only and $156 per year by mail. Single copy price is 75¢.
