Through negotiated agreements between trade unions and employers we want to set up collective arrangements to pool resources and increase value for money in support of learning in the workplace. With this in mind, the Department for Innovation and Skills (DIUS), the Trade Union Congress (TUC) and unionlearn are working together on the North West Collective Learning Fund (CLF) Project to identify, pilot and evaluate a number of different approaches for pooling resources, both cash and inkind, provided by the S tate, individual employees and employers.
The case studies contained in the booklet provides an early outline of the partnerships, coinvestment methods and action taken by trade union colleagues, to test innovative ways of resourcing effective learning partnerships in the workplace.
