At the 2013-14 National Beta Club Induction, the John Milledge Academy club doubled its numbers to bring the total number of members to 82. The National Beta Club is an academic service and leadership organization that strives to ‘ead by serving others.’ Each year, the club volunteers more than 1,200 hours of service to make the community a better place. Current student officers are: Anna Beck, Ansley Prosperi, Ansley Roberts, and Julia Hinson. The club is sponsored by Jessica Jones.

Cathy’s Eye Care pays Creekside Elementary a visit On April 8, Jacquelyn Bailey, Title 1 Parent-Services coordinator invited Cathy of Cathy’s Eye Care to come to Creekside Elementary School to repair, adjust, and do whatever was needed to get students ready for the CRCT week. Because of the amount of reading that is required, it is very important for those students who wear glasses have the best vision possible when taking the CRCT. Cathy has been very instrumental for years in donating her time and materials to make sure she has helped a child in the Baldwin County School System when it comes to their vision. Our hat is off to Cathy’s Eye Care!

SUMMER CAMP EXTRAVAGANZA

Ma. Jennifer Spencer's eighth-graders at GMC Prep School recently completed their Car Projects. They studied linear regression and researched used cars to determine the best deal for their 'dream' car when they can drive one day. They calculated slopes, y-intercepts, and x-intercepts by finding the results with rounding with calculations on paper and by the calculator, then compared the findings. They presented their findings to the class with a short presentation.
