GMC eighth graders learn about hazardous waste Creekside Elementary
Eagle Ridge Elementary
Georgia Military College Prep eighth-grade students have been studying hazardous wastes and learning about the safety precautions HazMat teams follow.
Students ran tests on unknown solids from an unknown mixture to determine chemical and physical properties in order to identify the solids.
Such tests included electrical conductivity, density relative to water, density relative to ethanol, and reactivity with copper chloride.

In social studies, Creekside Elementary students have been learning about leaders in class, school and community. Mayor Richard Bentley came to Creekside and read the book ‘Amelia Bedelia for Mayor’ to the kindergarten department. Shown with Mayor Bentley is Ms. Amason’s kindergarten class. Thanks to Mayor Bentley for being one of Creekside’s community leaders.
