Maj. Libby Blair’s senior Environmental Science class had the opportunity to tour Emory University's ‘Water Hub’ on Tuesday, Dec. 1. This water hub removes 400,000 gallons of raw sewage from DeKalb County's system each day, and uses green technology to cleanse and treat it to use for industrial heating and cooling on campus plus toilet flushing. It is amazing.

On Tuesday, Nov. 17, Maj. Anne Mason’s senior anatomy and physiology classes took a field trip to ‘Bodies: The Exhibition’ at Atlantic Station in downtown Atlanta. They saw more than 21 bodies dissected showing various systems throughout nine galleries. There were more than 250 individual organs or parts — some healthy and some diseased. The exhibits showed the students the effects of unhealthy living and what smoking does to the lungs. There were also examples of how the pulleys, fulcrums and levers that we know as muscles, joints, and bones continuously function without us even having to think about it. Contributed photos

The boys and girls in Mrs. Simons and Ms. Kendrick's Pre-K class at the Early Learning Center have had a great time with gingerbread boys and girls! They have read books about these characters, gone on a gingerbread boy hunt, made gingerbread houses, and created life size gingerbread boys and girls.
