www.uu.edu/about/ Location: Jackson, Tennessee (area population: 100,000), 80 miles east of Memphis and 120 miles west of Nashville. Forbes magazine recently ranked Jackson as one of America’s top 150 cities for business and careers. Student Body: More than 4,000 undergraduate and graduate students from more than 40 states and 35 countries. Student to Faculty Ratio: 12:1 Percentage of Faculty with Highest Possible Degree in Field: 84% Emphasis: A private, four-year, coeducational liberal arts-based university offering bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees. History: Founded in 1823, Union is the oldest institution affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention. Technology: Each residence apartment is equipped with filtered Internet and cable connections. In addition, wireless network access is available in residence commons areas, as well as in each academic building and the Student Union Building. Students receive a Union e-mail account and private file storage space on the Union network. Activities: More than 50 major student-produced music and theatre events each academic year; 70 campus clubs, societies, fraternities, sororities and other organizations; Cardinal & Cream student newspaper and The Torch, a literary journal. Campus: Union University’s main campus in Jackson and its extension campuses in Germantown and Hendersonville cover 360 acres. The wooded Jackson campus features pine groves, sycamores, a variety of oaks including Shumardi oaks lining the great lawn, elm, dogwoods, sweet gums and cherry trees. There are more than 40 major buildings and excellent athletic facilities. More than $120 million in new campus construction has been completed during the past decade, including several new Georgian-Colonial classroom buildings that support state-of-the-art teaching and research facilities. Most of Union’s on-campus housing was constructed in 2008. Student-suggested design features were incorporated in each new building; all residence buildings include a private bedroom for each student. The campus is situated along the U.S. 45 bypass in north Jackson and is adjacent to one of Jackson’s largest concentration of retail establishments and restaurants. Director of athletics Tommy Sadler enters his 26th year of service at Union University, and the second in his role as the Director of Athle�cs for Union. Sadler was named to this posi�on a�er serving the 2008-09 year as the ac�ng athle�cs director. He follows in the footsteps of Dr. David Blackstock, who had been Union’s Athle�c Director for the past 34 years. Sadler, a na�ve of Jackson, is a 1972 graduate of South Side High School and a 1976 graduate of Union University. During his �me at Union, Sadler played four years of baseball for the Bulldogs. In 1981, he received his Master of Educa�on from the University of Memphis. His tenure at Union began in 1985 as director of public rela�ons. A�er a year in that role, he became the university’s director of corporate and founda�on support, a posi�on he held for 10 years. In 1996, Sadler then moved into his previous role as associate director of athle�cs.

Sadler earned the Union University Staff Member of the Year in 1994. In 2010, Sadler was named the TranSouth Conference Athle�c Director of the Year. Sadler has also been very ac�ve in athle�cs at the conference level. He is beginning his ninth year as the president of the TranSouth Conference, of which Union is a member. Prior to this �me as president, he served the conference as its vice president.

coaching staff Heather Hall is now in her fourth season as the head so�ball coach at Union University. In June of 2007, Hall was hired as the new head so�ball coach and she posted a 37-22 record with an NAIA Region XI Tournament appearance in her first season. In her career at Union University she has compiled a record of 97-61 (.614). Hall, a na�ve of Prince Edward Island, Canada, spent two seasons as the assistant coach at the University of Tennessee at Mar�n under the leadership of Head Coach Donley Canary.

Hall played college so�ball at Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania from 2001-2004. In 2004, she graduated with a major in Social Work and a minor in French. While at Gannon, she set numerous school records. Hall holds careers records for strikeouts (857), shutouts (35), innings pitched, ERA (1.06), wins (68), complete games (81), and games started. She also holds Gannon’s single season record for strikeouts (226), while also holding the second, third, and fourth spots for strikeouts in a season. Hall adds single season records in ERA (0.51), complete games, innings pitched, and shutouts to her list of milestones. In 2001, Hall was named the GLIAC Freshman of the Year and was a three-�me All-GLIAC performer (2001, 2002, and 2004). In 2002, her ERA and strikeouts placed her second and third respec�vely in NCAA Division II ranks.

coaching staff & trainer Ashton Strode is in her first season as the graduate assistant for the Union University so�ball program. Strode comes to Union a�er a three-year playing career at the University of Tennessee - Mar�n. While at UTM, Strode earned all-newcomer honors and pitcher of the week for the Ohio Valley Conference. During her sophomore season, she tossed a perfect game versus Samford (Ala.) University. Strode was also a member of the OVC Honor Roll during her college years. She also played one season for Coach Hall while Hall was a graduate assistant at UTM. Strode, a na�ve of Niceville, Fla., is a 2004 graduate of Choctawhatchee (Fla.) High School. While in high school, she was named the team MVP for three seasons and was on the honor roll. Strode also helped lead her summer league U14 team, the Emerald Coast Comments, to the Panama City World Series Title. She was named the Daily News Northwest Florida Player of the Year.

Karen Tankersley, a native of Covington, Tenn., began her work at Union in the fall of 2009. Her primary responsibilities will be to work with the men’s soccer, softball and volleyball teams.

In March of 2006, Tankersley became a member of the National Athletic Trainer’s Association and Board of Certification. She is certified as a Performance Enhancement Specialist by the National Academy of Sports Medicine.

Before coming to Union, Tankersley worked as staff assistant athletic trainer at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas from June 2008 to June 2009. Her primary responsibilities there were to work with women’s volleyball, women’s track and field and cross country.

Tankersley earned a Masters of Arts in Exercise and Sports Science with specialization in Athletic Training from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. She completed her Master Thesis Research project focusing on kinematics of the scapula and shoulder complex in overhead athletics. While at North Carolina, her clinical responsibilities as a graduate assistant included her working with men’s lacrosse, women’s volleyball and fencing teams. Tankersley also served as an instructor in undergraduate anatomy labs and physical education classes. Tankersley received her Bachelor’s of Science in Athletic Training from the University of Southern Mississippi in December of 2005 where she graduated Cum Laude. Tankersley was a four-year varsity letter winner as a member of the Southern Mississippi cross country and track and field teams.

season outlook

The Union University so�ball program is looking to build on a runner-up finish in the TranSouth Conference from last season, their highest regular season finish since 2006. Union head coach Heather Hall returns 11 players, including her en�re pitching staff. Union adds six newcomers to the mix in hopes of winning a TranSouth �tle for the seventh �me, and first since 2004. Union has just two seniors on the squad including Bri�any Burke� and Amber Hayes. Hayes was an all-conference selec�on at first base last season, while Burke� has been a solid infielder third base.

The junior class includes four players, four of which are returning. Ali Bozza, Ka�e Davis, Hailee Edwards and Carmesha Owens all return with star�ng experience. Six sophomores return a�er major contribu�ons as freshman. Keaton Kirk and Brooke Thomas return as star�ng pitchers and everyday players who both earned all-conference honors last season. Stephanie Saunders, Sam Giesler and Britney Garner also return. Saunders and Giesler started as freshmen. Toby Joy sat out last season a�er transferring in but will contribute as the lead-off hi�er and in the pitching circle.

The freshman class has five players that are beginning their college careers. Caroline George sat out last season with a medical red-shirt but will provide a solid arm in the pitching circle. CJ Browder, Ka�e Beth Fesmire, Shelby Lamb and Miranda Mullen each come in as young players that will be called on early and o�en to contribute to the success of the team. Hall is now in her fourth season with Union. She is just three wins shy of reach 100 for her career (97-61, .614).

AMBER HAYES

5-9 • Senior • R/R • First Base/Shortstop Hometown: Brighton, Tennessee Previous School: Southwest Tennessee CC Birthday: June 15 Coach’s Comments. Amber is a pure power hi�er and is expected to have a knock out seaon her senior year. Amber will also be a staple in the infield. Amber will see �me at first and shortstop. Amber is a solid player with tremendous ability. Union Career. 2010...hit .344 in 50 games for Union...posted 55 hits, 12 doubles, 10 home runs and 35 RBI...slugging percentage of .606...was named first team all-conference, TranSouth Player of the Week twice, and TranSouth Scholar Athlete. Before Union. Hayes comes to Union a�er playing her freshman season at the University of Tennessee-Mar�n and her sophomore season at Southwest Tennessee Community College. As a sophomore, Hayes was named first team All-TCCAA and was the first ever Southwest player to be named na�onal player of the week. She set a Southwest single season record with 17 homeruns, six triples and 65 RBI. Hayes hit .434 on the season and was 9-5 with a 2.93 ERA and 56 strikeouts. While at UT-Mar�n as a freshman, she was selected to the Ohio Valley Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll. Hayes prepped at Brighton High School where she excelled in so�ball, volleyball and basketball. As a so�ball player, Hayes helped lead her team to three straight district and region �tles from 2004 through 2006. In 2004 and 2005, Brighton won sub-state �tles, advancing to the state tournament. During her high school career, Hayes was a four-�me Best of the Preps All-Metro, four-�me alldistrict, district MVP, Millington Star and Covington Leader Player of the Year, Gatorade Player of the year and team captain. Hayes enjoyed success on numerous summer league teams, including the 2006 NFSA Na�onal Championship. In volleyball, Hayes was named district Player of the Year as a senior and was a two-�me all-district and all-district tournament player. Off the field, Hayes was a member of the Na�onal Honor Society, Academic Honor Roll, Calculus Club, Mu Alpha Theta and Spanish Club. She earned the U.S. Army Reserve Na�onal Scholar Athlete Award. Coach’s Comments. Ali is an excep�onal athlete and will do whatever it takes to help her team reach success. Ali works extremely hard and is always intense. Ali’s drive, work ethic, and desire are contagious and are major components to this year’s team’s success. Ali was also voted team co-captain.

Union Career. 2009... played in 33 games, star�ng 30 �mes...hit .180 with a homerun, and three doubles... stole five bases in five a�empts. 2010... hit .252 in 42 games for Union...tallied 31 hits, 13 runs, and 12 RBI...stole three bases...was named a TranSouth Scholar Athlete. Before Union. Bozza prepped at Trinity Chris�an Academy in Jackson where she played so�ball, soccer, and basketball. In so�ball, she helped lead her team to back-to-back Tennessee State Titles in 2006 and 2007. Her teams earned district �tles in 2004-2007 and region �tles in 2006 and 2007. Coach’s Comments. Ka�e is a gi�ed hi�er and generates a tremendous amount of power. She will see �me as a DH and first base. Ka�e will generate many RBI’s this upcoming season merely by one swing of the bat.

Union Career. 2009... was third on the team with a .358 average, 12 doubles and eight home runs...was named all-conference and conference scholar athlete. 2010... hit .243 in 30 games for Union...recorded eight runs, 18 hits, six doubles, three home runs and 11 RBI. Before Union. Davis played four years of prep so�ball at Gibson County High School. She is hi�ng .385 for her career with 96 career RBI. As a freshman, she also pitched for the Lady Pioneers where she won five games, including a no-hi�er. Davis has received numerous honors for her so�ball career, including Jackson Sun All-West Tennessee, All-District 13AA, Team MVP, and Most RBI’s as a junior. Her sophomore year saw Davis claim All-District Tournament 13AA and Most RBI’s. As a freshman, she earned the Rookie of the Year Award. Coach’s Comments. Hailee is a returning pitcher that will be contending for a spot in the circle. Hailee has been working hard this year on a few more pitches to add to her arsenal. Union Career. 2009... was second on the team in ERA with a 2.53 ERA...earned a record of 12-6... led the team in strikeouts with 129. 2010... on the mound, was 0-2 with a 9.55 ERA in 7.1 innings...tallied four strikeouts...was named a TranSouth Scholar Athlete. Before Union. Edwards prepped at Ripley High School where she played so�ball and was a cheerleader for four seasons. As a pitcher/ou�ielder, she was named All-District twice, Best Offense, and was selected as Team Captain. Edwards hit .475 as a junior and posted a 0.93 ERA on the mound. In Cheerleading, Edwards was named Team Captain and was also a two-�me VCA All-Star. Coach’s Comments. Carmesha will see the majority of her playing �me behind the plate anchoring the pitching staff. She has great ability calling pitches and reading hi�ers. Carmesha finds and brings out the best in her teammates. Carmesha was voted team co-captain. Union Career. 2009... played in 32 games, star�ng 28 �mes...hit .247 for the season, one homerun, and eight RBIs. 2010... hit .167 in 21 games for Union...tallied two runs, six hits and two RBI. Before Union. Owens played four seasons of so�ball at Westview High School. She helped lead her team to the District 13A �tles in 2007 and 2008, while claiming the Region �tle in 2008. As a senior, Owens was named All-Academic and first team All-District. She added West Tennessee honorable men�oned and All-District Tournament honors as a junior. Coach’s Comments. Keaton has shown that she is ready for whatever challenge she is given. Keaton stepped up her games last season as a star�ng pitcher and will con�nue to build upon her success. Keaton will see �me in the pitching circle and in the ou�ield. Union Career. 2010...on the mound, was 13-5 with a 2.00 ERA...tallied 22 starts in 25 appearances with 116 strikeouts in 133.0 innings pitched...also started in the ou�ield...hit .202 with 18 runs, 23 hits, six doubles, a triple, one home run and 12 RBI...was named second team all-conference. Before Union. Kirk prepped at Bolivar Central High School where she played four seasons of so�ball. She also played for the West Tennessee All-Stars, leading her team to the USSSA Tennessee State Title in 2007. Kirk was named All-West Tennessee and All-District as a freshman, sophomore, and junior. As a junior, Kirk hit .431 with six homeruns. She also posted a 0.83 ERA on the mound, with 142 strikeouts and just eight walks in 82 innings pitched. Off the field, Kirk was a Girl’s State Delegate, Miss BCHS, BCHS Wall of Fame, and selected most studious. She was a member of the honor roll, FCA, Beta Club, and won seven subject awards. Before Union. Saunders prepped at Cheatham County High School where she played four seasons of so�ball and volleyball. In so�ball, she was named District MVP, all-state, all-district and all-mid-State as a junior and a senior. Saunders added all-district honors as both a freshman and sophomore. As a senior, she hit .548 and eight home runs, with a .652 on-base percentage and a 1.105 slugging percentage. Saunders also posted a .988 fielding percentage at third base. She was selected as team captain in her sophomore, junior and senior seasons. Saunders helped lead her summer travel so�ball team to the 2007 ASA State Title, and three ASA Na�onal Tournament appearances. In volleyball, she was named all-district as a senior. Saunders was equally successful outside of athle�cs as she was Valedictorian and was on the Na�onal Honor Roll for four years. Coach’s Comments. Brooke had a strong freshman season and will con�nue to build upon that success. In the circle, Brooke led the team in ERA and has the mental toughness needed to be successful. Brooke also has the ability to be one of the team’s top hi�ers and has demonstrated her power at the plate. Union Career. 2010...on the mound, was 21-9 with a 1.63 ERA...tallied 207 strikeouts in 202 innings pitched...started 26 games in 34 appearances with one save...also started in the oufield...hit .307 with 20 runs, 35 hits, eight doubles, three home runs and 15 RBI...was named first team all-conference...was named TranSouth Pitcher of the Week twice. Before Union. Thomas played four years of so�ball at Hun�ngdon High School. She helped lead her team to District 13A and Region �tles in 2006, 2007, and 2008. Thomas has been a three-�me All-West Tennessee performer, District MVP twice, Team MVP twice and was twice named All-State. Thomas also earned 2008 Pitcher of the Year Award and was a three-�me Sara Beth Whitehead MVP. As a junior, she tallied 441 strikeouts in just 216 innings pitched. Thomas tossed eight no-hi�ers, 11 1-hi�ers, and 16 shutouts with an ERA of 0.36. As a hi�er, she posted a .447 average with five homeruns. Thomas struck out 219 ba�ers as a freshman and 285 as a sophomore. Before Union. Giesler prepped at Westview High School in Mar�n, Tenn. where she played four season of so�ball for J.B. Suiter. She helped lead the team to district �tles in 2007 and 2008, region �tle in 2008 and sixth place finishes in the state tournament in both 2007 and 2008. Giesler is a three-�me all-district, two �me Gold Glove award winner, two-�me Leadership award winner, two-�me All-West Tennessee, twice named 13AA All-Tournament and earned the Silver Slugger award. During her career, she hit .379. Giesler also spent a season as a member of the cheerleading squad that won the 2005-06 state �tle and finished second in na�onals. Before Union. Garner prepped at Gibson County High School where she played four years of so�ball. She was a four-year starter and posted a .389 career ba�ng average. Garner posted 36 career extra base hits, while se�ng school records with 32 runs scored in 2008 and 47 hits in 2007. She also holds school records for career hits (150), runs (101) and games played (136). Garner posed 25 career wins as a pitcher, including one perfect game and 190 career strikeouts. Garner was a three-�me all-district first team selec�on, all-district second team, all-tournament and all-academic once each. She was named the team MVP in 2006 and 2009. In addi�on to so�ball, Garner was a four-year member of the basketball and cross country teams. She was an allregion performer for the basketball team’s 2009 group that went 35-0 and won the state championship. Off the field, Garner was a member of FCA, Bible Club, Beta Club and Pep Club. Tobie is a hardnosed player who knows what it takes to win. Union Career. 2011...first season at Union. Before Union. Joy transferred to Union from Middle Tennessee State where she played one season of so�ball. She started 56 games at second base and posted her career high of three RBI in a game versus the University of Tennessee. Joy prepped at Covington High School where she played so�ball and volleyball. In her four years of so�ball for Coach Martha Lawler, she helped lead her team to four district, region and sec�onal �tles, as well as, a state runner up finish in 2006 and third place finish in 2007. Joy accumulated numerous honors at Covington including being named a three-�me allstate player, three-�me All-West Tennessee and four-�me Shelby County All-Metro team performer. She was named the Commercial Appeal and On the Ball Magazine Player of the Year, earned the coach’s award and was named team MVP as a senior. In her high school career, Joy was 97-21-3 with 979 strikeouts and a 1.78 ERA. She had 59 shutouts and tossed 21 career no-hi�ers. Off the field, Joy was a member of the High School Honor Society and Who’s Who, while gradua�ng eighth in her senior class. At MTSU, she earned a spot on the Dean’s List for the fall and spring semesters.

Coach’s Comments. C.J. is a pure athlete. She works hard and does her absolute best every �me she steps onto the field. She has tremendous drive and speed that is vital to any team. High School where she played four seasons of so�ball. While at Covington, Browder earned numerous honors. Browder was a four-�me all-district player, four-�me all-tournament, two-�me all-tournament MVP, three-�me Best of the Preps, once named Best of Preps Player of the Year, twice named all-state, two-�me best defense award winner and two-�me slugger award winner. She also earned a Golden Glove award, Hustle Award, high school all-star game MVP, and led the team in ba�ng average, steals, runs, and on-base percentage. Browder was also a member of summer league teams, the Spirits and West Tennessee Express that won �tles. Off the field, Browder was a member of the Na�onal Honor Society.

George prepped at McNairy Central High School where she played four seasons of so�ball for coach Mell Surra�. George was a three-�me all-district and all-tournament selec�on during her career. She posted over 900 career strikeouts with 36 shutouts and five no-hi�ers. George was 56-20-2 overall with a 0.54 career ERA. She set a single game record with 24 strikeouts in a 13-inning game. George also was a successful summer league so�ball player. She helped lead her West Tennessee All-Stars to two USSSA State �tles and one USGF World Series �tle. Off the field, George was a member of the Na�onal Honor Society and Spanish Na�onal Honor Society.

Union Career. 2011...first season at Union. Before Union. Fesmire prepped at the University School of Jackson where she played so�ball, volleyball and was a varsity cheerleader. Fesmire was a four-�me all-district player, three �mes named all-district tournament, three �mes named first team Jackson Sun All-West Tennessee and was co-captain as a junior and senior. Following her senior year, she was named District MVP and was named to the TSWA All-State team. As a senior, she led her team with a .563 average with 18 doubles, five triples, three home runs, 60 runs and 43 RBI, while leading her team to the 2010 Tennessee State Title. For her career, Fesmire posted 138 runs, 112 RBI, 36 doubles, 13 triples and 12 home runs. Fesmire helped lead her summer team to the Dixie Youth World Series championship game three �mes, including winning the �tle in 2008 and finishing runner-up in 2002 and 2007. During the summer of 2009, she was named the best all-around catcher at the Auburn (Ala.) University so�ball camp. Off the field, Fesmire was named to the All-Northwest honor choir five �mes, all-state honor choir as a senior and best actress and suppor�ng actress roles in student plays. She was also the chaplain for the Film and Key Clubs.

As a senior so�ball player, Lamb earned 8AAA District MVP, team MVP, team captain, Leadership Award, All-Middle Tennessee and played in the All-Star game. Earlier in her career, Lamb added team MVP as a freshman, best offense and all-district as a sophomore, and team MVP, all-district and All-Middle Tennessee as a junior. In soccer, Lamb helped lead her team to the 2008 district �tle and 2009 district runner-up. She was named soccer all-district as a junior and senior, while also being named team MVP. Off the fields, Lamb was a member of the Na�onal Honor Society.

Miranda Mullen

Miranda is also a threat at the plate and will challenge any pitcher for a base hit. Union Career. 2011...first season at Union. Before Union. Mullen prepped at Reidland (Ky.) High School where she played five seasons of so�ball. She helped lead her team to four Kentucky Class A state �tles (2006, 2007, 2008 and 2010). Mullen was named all-district three �mes, all state twice, all-state tournament and was named to the East/West All-Star Game. She hit .451 as a senior with 36 RBI, eight doubles and two home runs. In her career at Reidland, Mullen hit .405 with 145 runs, 193 hits, 21 doubles and three home runs. Off the field, Mullen was the student council president, senior class officer, earned the Junior Rotary Scholarship, was on the 2010 Academic All-State Team, and was voted Miss Reidland High School.

previous season summary

The Union University so�ball posted a solid season in 2010. The Lady Bulldogs posted a season record of 34-16 overall and a 10-4 record in the TranSouth. Union finished �ed for second in the TranSouth regular season standings and earned the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament. Union head coach Heather Hall led the Lady Bulldogs to a winning percentage of .764 on the season. Union was 42 when playing in extra innings, 20-7 at home, 12-8 on the road and 2-1 on neutral fields. Union also swept four of the seven TranSouth Conference teams in the regular on the season. Union opened the season with a 3-2 record, but then rolled off seven straight victories. A�er a four-game skid, their longest of the year, Union won nine of their next ten games, including a season best eight straight. Union was 19-7 overall and 4-0 in league play at that point. Union closed out the season winning 15 of their final 24 games.

Union came into the TranSouth Tournament as the #2 seed. Union went 2-2 with wins over Lyon (Ark.) and Mar�n Methodist (Tenn.) before losing to host Trevecca Nazarene (Tenn.) and then Bethel (Tenn.). The TranSouth coaches recognized five Union players on the all-conference team. First team all-conference players Included Amber Hayes, Ali Thomas and Brooke Thomas. Keaton Kirk and Lindsey Landreneau earned second team all-conference honors. Landreneau, Ali Thomas and Candice Thompson were named NAIA Scholar-Athletes. Emily Anthony, Ali Bozza, Bri�any Burke�, Hailee Edwards and Hayes joined Landreneau, Ali Thomas and Thompson as TranSouth Scholar-Athletes. Union’s Brooke Thomas was named TranSouth Pitcher of the Week twice last season, while Hayes was named conference player of the week twice also.

About the NAIA

The purpose of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) is to promote the education and development of students through intercollegiate athletic participation. Member institutions, although varied and diverse, share a common commitment to high standards and to the principle that participation in athletics serves as an integral part of the total educational process. The NAIA embraces the concept of the student and recognizes the importance of the individuality of each member institution, the value of the conferences and Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) structure, and the benefits of membership in a national association. The NAIA supports gender equity. Gender equity is an atmosphere and reality where fair distribution of overall athletic opportunity and resources, proportionate to enrollment, are available to women and men, and where no student-athlete, coach or athletics administrator is discriminated against in any way in the athletics program. That is to say, an athletics program is gender-equitable when the men’s sports program would be pleased to accept as its own the overall participation opportunities and resources currently allocated to the women’s sports program and vice versa.

Advancing sport with innovative change

The NAIA has 50,000 student-athletes participating at nearly 300 member colleges and universities throughout the United States and Canada. Divided into 25 conferences and the Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.), the NAIA offers 23 championships in 13 sports. Since 1937, the NAIA has continued a long tradition of pushing the envelope and making a positive difference in the lives of students, coaches and parents. The Champions of Character program is the latest cutting-edge addition to the NAIA’s proud history of innovation (www.championsofcharacter.org). Through Champions of Character, the NAIA seeks to create an environment in which every studentathlete, coach, official and spectator are committed to the true spirit of competition through the five core values: respect, integrity, responsibility, servant leadership and sportsmanship.
