Open to all competitors 21 years of age and under as of January 1, 2023. (except Bull Classes)

1. Open to Canadian exhibitors only.

2. In compliance with CFIA Requirements, all animals must have an RFID or CCIA tag. Without one or the other, the animal will not be permitted on the grounds.

3. Competitors must be able to control their animal in the show ring on their own.

4. All animals will be judged as Progressed. All animals must be born in 2022.

5. All cattle must be halter broke to show.

6. Market Animals classes (steers and heifers) will be split by weight. Breeding Heifer classes will be split by breed and age.

7. Market Animals (steers and heifers) weigh-in weight is the official show weight. No re-weighs.

8. All entries in purebred heifer and bull classes must have official registration papers and ear tattoos according to the Canadian Breed Associations. Animals must be tattooed BEFORE show arrival. Bring proof of registration to processing – hard copy or digital is acceptable. Without proper registration papers heifers and bulls will be in the crossbred class. All breed registration numbers must be submitted at time of entries.

A minimum of 5 animals/heifers are required to make up a breed division (based on Canadian Breed Associations).Classes will be split accordingly by committee. With a minimum of 3 bulls required to make up a breed/division.

8a.) Purebred Heifers born in 2022 that do not meet minimum breed class requirements will be split into AOPB (Any Other Papered Breed), AOB (Any Other Breed including percentage heifers with proper breed registration).

8b.)Purebred Bulls born in 2022 that do not meet the minimum breed class requirements will be split into AOPB (Any Other Purebred Breed with division of Continental and British Breeds) or AOB (Any Other Bull). Bull classes are OPEN to anyone -ALL AGES can exhibit - 2 bulls per prefix.

All Junior Exhibitors may EXHIBIT up to 3 HEIFERS, 2 MARKETS ANIMALS and/or 2 BULLS (born in 2022) with a MAXIMUM of 5 ENTRIES in TOTAL.

9. All cattle must be shown by the exhibitor/youth in whose name they are entered UNLESS that youth/exhibitor has two or more cattle in the same class. At that time they can have assistance from another registered participant that has paid an entry fee and shown in showmanship. Any animal breeding and/or market must only be entered in one breed class or section of show.

10.Substitutions will be allowed at a fee of $250 per head. The secretary/register must be contacted prior to the event . No substitutions will be accepted upon arrival to the event.

11. Showmanship splits are as follows (ages as of January 1, 2022)

a)Tyke Class Under 9 (with/without assistance no entry fee)

b)Pee-Wee UNDER 9 (without assistance/entry fee must be paid to exhibit)

c)Novice 9 - 11

d)Junior 12 - 14

e)Intermediate 15 - 17

f)Senior 18 - 21

*Competitors must use their own entry to compete in showmanship. Bulls can not be used in showmanship classes.

12.Show Attire: Clean dark jeans and proper footwear will be enforced before entering the show ring. No ball caps or ripped pants will be allowed.

13. Arrival time for cattle will be after 6:00AM Friday March 17, 2023 and must be in the barn by 3pm that same day. Processing Breeding Animals will happen Friday March 17 and Market Cattle Saturday March 18 starting at 7:30AM. Barns will be closed nightly at 10pm. All cattle/displays must stay until the completion of Supreme Champion Selection.

14.Family involvement and peers will be encouraged.

15.Only cattle entered in the show will be permitted on the premises.

16.All cattle will be inspected for any contagious bovine disease (e.g. ringworm) by a veterinarian of the committee’s choice. Any livestock found unacceptable will be asked to leave.

17. Tie- outs are available. Cattle located in tie-outs will be contained and secured each night by 9pm.

18.No metal wire to adhere end gates or fans. Plastic or clamps only.

19.Maximum of one fan per three head of cattle allowed.

20.Dogs are NOT permitted on grounds/ facility any time during the event, with the exception of service animals.

21.BEDDING MUST BE STRAW or SHAVINGS

22.Anyone caught in the act of unethical practices on cattle will automatically be ejected from the event. (Ex. Pumping or Drenching)

23.The Spring 4ward Committee has the final decision on all matters regarding this event.

24.All entries must be received by March 01, 2023- Entry Fees must be paid at time of entry.
