New Colombo Plan scholarships for study in the

Indo-Pacific region

Pearl Andrews and Yasmeen Daniels were awarded a prestigious New Colombo Plan scholarship in 2023, allowing them to study in the Indo-Pacific region for up to one year.

Pearl, a Bachelor of Indigenous Knowledge student majoring in Law and Justice, is headed for Fiji where she will study Indigenous (and Pacific Islander) methodologies for combating climate change while Yasmeen, a Bachelor of Science (Environmental Systems and Marine Systems) student will undertake an internship in South Korea, as she would like to be able to experience a completely different ecosystem in a temperate climate. It’s also a great opportunity for her to be immersed in Korean culture and learn a new language.
