We offer many ways for you to be involved - as an advisor, mentor or coach for young entrepreneurs; an investor or director in a start-up; a financial supporter of the University of Auckland Inventors’ Fund; services to start-up companies; an IP license for your company; or observing young talent grow and world leading research turn into new products and companies.
ACHIEVEMENTS · In 2016, UniServices received 125 invention and business idea disclosures · We turned these into 11 companies and 69 licenses in 2016 We plan to double these numbers within 5 years · From more than 30 Investment Committee meetings, we invest $3-4 million per year · We currently have 132 live projects · Over the past 10 years we have delivered a 3x realised return on investment
STUDENT SPONSORSHIP We sponsor the Velocity Business Plan competition which has created over 140 companies that raised in excess of $200 million, employ over 400 people and sell into 35 countries.
RETURN ON SCIENCE PROGRAMME
We run this national research commercialisation programme, delivering new research to market from universities, research institutions and private companies. Entry is via a non‑disclosure agreement. We are inviting friends of the University of Auckland to get involved. Contact:
